Shaeffer said that Bernard fighting Adamek would mean Bernard going up to 200 lbs. I'd bet my house that if Bernard ever did fight Adamek, it would be at yet another ridiculous "catch-weight" somewhere around 185-190. lol
Bernard is tryin' to find a fight with historical significance......so a fight with Adamek would be for the CW strap......no catchweight title fights my dude .......fighting and beating Dawson doesn't do **** for his legacy and theres no historical value in beating Chad........beating Haye is something Hopkins CAN do........
OMG when at ast is he going to have his fight???!!!
P.S. i think the fight with Haye - was simply a joke...
P.S. Isimply can`t understand why aren`t they looking for a way out of the situation with Adamek? 1,2 seems also to be something fantastic, why wasn`t it mention earlier? Why don`t they try to make this fight happen???

Hopkins could have fought Adamek but priced himself out of it. Shaefer is lying about that fight, Adamek was only offered $500k, and Hopkins wanted $5 million. I still don't understand what was going on in Hopkins' mind, as it's obvious Adamek wouldn't accept those terms, and Hopkins could still have had a very good pay day (> $4 million) if he'd taken the Adamek fight.

That's simply not true. Dawson schooled Adamek and is a much better fighter than Adamek; and beating a prime Dawson, who is accepted by most as the #1 Light Heavyweight, at the age of 44, would certainly enhance his legacy.
So first Hops says if a fight isnt signed by the end or March or so he's not fighting. Now he's still majorly entertaining the idea, he won't face Dawson the most logical match up when he's had big pay days already, and there's talk of him at CW, and then HW?
What, theeee ****. Seriously, what nonsense. Like the guy, legend, fan, but at this rate we'll be lucky if he manages to fight once this year, let alone at CW then at HW.
No because hopkins would be fighting for Adamek's titles, so a catch weight couldn't be possible.
And hopkins wouldn't weigh in at 200 pounds, he would likely weigh in significantly lower.
Middleweight limit is 160 lbs, but that didnt prevent DLH-Hops (for all the titles) from being at a catch-weight of 158 did it?
And welterweight limit is 147 pounds, but that wouldn't prevent Pac-Cotto (for Cotto's title) from being at a catch-weight of 143-144 will it?
But I agree that Hops wouldn't weight 200. My point is that he wouldn't let Adamek weight anywhere near 200, even though it would be for the cruiserweight title. lol
So what's the reason people aren't paying to see Dawson? If I lived Stateside, I'd go and watch his fights in a heartbeat. He's a young, hungry champ who boxes slick and can have potentially over a decade's worth of fights left in him - what's not to go and see? Sure, he gets sloppy and can be gun-shy for a few rounds, but when he really gets to work I find it very enjoyable to watch. He'll learn.
Maybe people aren't into boxing as much anymore, unless big names are involved... which is a shame. If I had a decent income myself (instead of being a jobless bum), I'd make it my pastime to go to see any British prospects whose names I might hear float around (except those pricks Tyson Fury and James DeGale). I'd feel good contributing to the progress of the Science in some small way.
He was televised in Showtime and they're not the best when it comes to marketing. Dawson is more popular than some people think, but because HBO wasn't hyping him up, they don't know about him. Dawson wasn't one of those hyped prospects that everyone was talking about either.
