Manny Pacquiao To Retire After October Bout?

add to that cotto isn't a great draw, mayweather took two tough fights for a lot more money......doesn't equal a duck in my book.Comment

Manny has nothing to lose by fighting the 3 mentioned above because he is not expected to win in this division. Floyd on th other hand knows he has something to lose and it could realistically happen and he "won't" fight those guys.
Floyd believes that because Manny has been annointed the P4P best; even though he could not beat Cotto, Shane or Williams, that he can swoop down and beat the smaller Pacman and put himself on top again without beating the "REAL" guys in that divisionComment

who is Paul williams ducking? this guy is going up and down the scales to get a fight. The only fighter Shane is ducking is williams because Williams is Vernon Forrest all over with less power but way more punch output.Comment

Both Vernon Forrest called out Mayweather, Winky Wright called out Mayweather years ago. Vernon stated "I will shut him down on some simple S..." If that is not calling him out plus after winning a fight he stated he wanted Mayweather. If that is not asking for him, I don't know what is.Comment

Mayweather concedes the bigger share to pac or the fight doesn't happen. Manny deserves the bigger piece. He's lb 4 lb#1, he's fought the best, he's more popular now than floyd has ever been worldwide. His career PPV #s are close to Floyds. He's fought on PPV more than floyd. He is undoubtedly the face of boxing right now. Pac does not need Floyd as much as Floyd needs Pac. The same way Mayweather retired and wouldnt fight the top dogs Floyd needs this fight and if he wants it he better be ready to give up the lions share. If Floyd doesnt take it he'll be forced to fight Cotto or Mosley, either that or retire again. This is Arum's way of sticking it back to Floyd. Everyone wants to fight Manny right now. He's brought the sport more exposure than we've seen in some time. He's more exciting, and going forward his style/personality attracts more fans to the sport period.
As much as I want to see this fight, I see it as the perfect way to force floyd into fights we've been wanting to see for a long time & prove his greatness vs. the best out there.
And I wouldn't blame them for being realistic. Floyd is just naturally too big, too quick and too skilled for Manny to inflict any damage (of course I didn't think Manny could KO Hatton either!).
Fighting Cotto would be a bigger mismatch although more exciting for however long it lasts.
But I'd love to see Pac-JMM III at 135 or 140 because this would be a very competitive, exciting fight that could settle countless debates. I also like the idea of rewarding fighters like JMM who take on tough fights.
Most importantly, if Manny retired without fighting Floyd, Money would have to man-up and fight top WWs to cement his claim to be #1 P4P. But I'm not sure that would happen. In fact, with the Pacquiao fight off the table, I suspect Arum would count on Floyd to leave boxing again... without the massive payday. This would be the step-to-it-***** message from Top Rank. Vindictive, but not unreasonable to speculate.Comment

This is because Mayweather will be looking to regain his P4P Crown around this time once he has OWNED JMM.
