I'm pretty sure Freddie Roach is amenable to a same day weigh-in. They will fight at 147, then both should fight as a welterweight come fight night. If the main event is around 8:30 pm (Pacific), how's a 7 pm weigh-in sounds to you?
sounds like a ***** move, either way Cotto beats the **** out of the Pacman

I want the best from both boxers, and not like 2 malnourished kids throwing pitty-patty punches atop the ring fighting for bread crumbs, and in slow motion. I want their best, their fiercest, Their fastest, their strongest version, period. I want to see a future classic.

But you can't just throw Pacman in their in the lion's den, ripe for the picking and ready to be devoured. There's got to be a little bit of an equalizer, is what I'm saying Benny...
Not a Genius. Smart, but not a Genius.

I understand what you are saying but what I am still saying is that it is only "honorable" if you are fighting a healthy fighter. If you are going to get credit for a win, you should want it at the highest level and that is fighting the opponent that is healthy. Making him drain weight is not at his best. The sad part to all this is most people do not look at the details so it will go unnoticed at the end of the day by most. And, fighters generally will cave if the money is big enough. Whoever is responsible for taking advantage of this knowledge is just as guilty. My problem with Freddie is that he has a condition which resulted from boxing. So for him to not look out for the safety of other fighters as well makes him just as guilty even though his main concern will be with his fighters. However, a fighter also must take responsibility for his actions and make the right decisions. But, a fighter that was once poor and fights for money will most likely continue to have a weakness when a giant pot of gold is set in front of his eyes. That's what Freddie looks at and works on. Smart, but it doesn't mean it is valued highly when it comes to Chivalry. In War, Freddie would be right. But this is sport. And even in War, you can still be judged on your victory of how you won.

That's why I often show this picture with Freddie in mind.

Big Name fights are at 147 but I guess he could stick at 140 and have fights there. Not really sure who would make an exciting come forward type fight.....maybe Torres. Have to look back over that division. Maybe he can get Breidis Prescott to move up and get revenge for Khan unless Khan wants dibbs.
