By you, saying that I, am making them out to be morons... then you are saying, that the casual fans think that PBF-Oscar was exciting... because that's what I said.

And yes the Hatton fight was exciting in the last few rounds, but people remember what it took Floyd 10 rounds to do Pac took 2...

Which is the point of this thread... Floyd needs an entertaining win.

Say the fight is somewhat entertaining and Floyd wins a decision...Do you think he'd take less money than Pac and sign a contract? If he cares about his place in boxing he takes the fight for anything reasonable...

Fighting Pacquiao for less money would probably still give him more $ than any other fight out there....him and Cotto/Mosley/whoever don't get him the same amount.

Another reason why this fight has no excuse not to happen unless Pac fights Cotto first and loses, or Floyd loses in July...

I hear what you guys are saying but disagree to a point. I think all Floyd really has to do is beat JJM more convincingly than Pac. Casual fans don't really know/care about weight classes and they may just be surprised that the guy who gave Manny problems was clearly beaten by Floyd. More important than all of that is that the PPV does decent numbers. When they come to the table with Floyd they will look at the PPV numbers and that may pressure Top rank to budge and give Floyd his 50/50 split. We also have to realize that there is no active fighter that Pac can make more money fighting right now. They know this and it may be the factor that forces Top Rank to pull the trigger.

Floyd has to stop or win in a better deceiving fashion against Marquez IMO.

No way this can go to the scorecards.

Arum will make more money with Pac-Cotto.. its still a mega event, and Arum gets his cut off both fighters.

it wasn't specifically aimed at you, but the whole assumption that the infamous "casuals" get so restless they have to sit on their hands and bite their knuckles after 6 rounds without a knockout or have no idea about the relevence of weight classes or don't realise that boxing is a sport not a televised brawl

don't get defensive as like i said i was just thinking aloud. it's something i have noticed a lot around here
