Can someone explain to me how Pacquiao's resume is better/ or comparable to Whitaker?

he was top ranked at 122 at the time. whether he deserved it or not doesn't change anything.

he was a champion and he was ranked #1 in the division by most people or at least #2 after ayala moved up to 122.

When Whitaker beat Nelson, Nelson hand't been beat in 8 years and that loss (his only defeat at the time) was to Salvador Sanchez a fight which he took on short notice after only 13 fights.

In those 8 years Nelson had won two world titles in the Featherweight and Super featherweight division and had wins over Wilfredo Gomez, Pat Cowdell, and Mario Martinez. And had been very dominant.

I feel this is one of Whiatkers best displays, as he wins a virtually shutout over a world class fighter, who was a brillant run and had been dominant in that run.

Do to Nelsons credit his wife was very ill, do I dout it would of went much different. After this fight Nelson would go on to win another world title and stop Jeff Fench.

You can't take this win away from Whitaker or discredit it.

Ledwaba is an underrated win, true.

he won fighter of the month for that year from ring magazine.

all the ringside guys were amazed especially considering he was a last minute replacement.

ledwaba's people thought he'd be an easy win. they only picked him because his record was decent enough and because they can claim him as a former champ. they really didn't think a former flyweight champ would be any threat. lol
