So BoxingScene has more PRican's on this board!? Make a poll.
I don't use the Marg loss as an excuse...it was a loss.
Nope never shall we know if he used plaster on Cotto, but him getting suspended is priceless.Comment

Cotto is better than Mosley. Why? Because the two have already duked it out and Cotto beat Mosley, bad. Not bad as in a beat down, but made Mosley look shot. I watched it and Mosley faught horribly in that fight.
Cotto is better.Comment

exactly! its unfair to cotto so there should be a rematch to remove all doubt!Though I'd love to see a rematch because the 1st was a great fight, I don't think the rematch will determine that much more that Cotto is better right now than Mosley. Some would argue that it was in Cotto's backyard and it was a hometown decision, but I think that's a bit unfair to Cotto's overall performance in the fight.
different judges use different criteria and hometown crowds can influence decisionsFrom a judges point of view and seeing that both fighter's were getting off shots, there had to be other intangibles you had to include such as who controlled the pace of the fight, who showed frustration, who was more active or landed the flusher shots, etc.
I thought it was a very close fight that could've gone either way. cotto got it that time, but a rematch is needed to not only to determine who is better, but also to determine who is the WW champ.Cotto in my opinion landed the more effective shots and used his jab to his advantage. Mosley from round 4-8 look very frustrated with how Cotto was timing him. I don't think it had anything to do with being in Madison Square Garden. I want to believe the same decision would be given in Vegas as well.Comment

go ahead, but polls aren't the end all and be all of anything

I wouldn't say one fighter is better than the other, per se. The fighters are evenly matched. I think Mosley came into the first fight a little too ****y. His plan was to go in and test Cotto's chin right off the bat. When Cotto started landing counter punches in succession it startled Shane. For 2 or 3 rounds he looked very stunned and was on the verge of being dropped then he changed his fight style around the 8th or 9th round. He started to box more and started to build up a little momentum toward the end of the fight. But by that time it was too late. Cotto built up such a lead at the beginning that Mosley couldn't overcome it by boxing alone. A rematch would be interesting for sure but I wouldn't say one fighter is clearly better than the other. Cotto won but it wasn't by a mile.Comment
