Why did people read in so much on Hatton's win over Malignaggi?

Why did people read in so much on Hatton's win over Malignaggi and some how use this a barometer to evalute Hatton?

When Hatton beat Malignaggi, a fight that I don't even remember watching, why was there such an uproar? I did not understand the hype, nor did I understand how people were giving Hatton so many kudos and accolades for beating this unproven and unacomplisehd bum.

In Pacquiao's case, ODLH although he has been shot for a long time now, surely is the more accomplished fighter and ODLH even at his old sorry age, would still take Paulette to shcool. I did not use ODLH as a barometer to measure pac but I did however give more props to Pac for beating ODLH than I did giving any props to Hatton for beating Paulie Bumanaggi.

Before you folks get into this thing about he went 12 with Cotto, incase you did not know, this was Cotto's last skeltor fight at 140. Cotto was not only killing himself to make weight, he also broke his hand in the 5th round and by then Cotto had already dropped Paulie on his ass and broken Paulies jaw and Paulie was still unable to do anything shocking or great other than just survive against a weight drained one armed fighter.

With a broken jaw thats pretty impressive/shocking.. Hatton looked fairly decent in that fight which is why, however past the first round he realised Mal had no power at all so he could charge him being careless like he does. So yeah he was overated from that fight, not been the same since the Mayweather/Cortez job.

Because Hatton outboxed the boxer. And after all the pre-match **** about the Hitman hugging his way to victory it was Paulie who did all the hugging.

But would like to reiterate that Hatton is not a great boxer and should retire.

Paulie was hugging to survive. Nearly every punch landed hurt him.

but if you go back and study the Cotto/Malignaggi fight, you will notice Malignaggi was doing the same thing against Cotto who was fighting with a broken hand. After the 5th it was Malignaggi trying to land one shot and then hugging and it was like this all night.

Paulie fought with a broken right hand. He has the heart of a lion for still taking that fight.

Paulie was just trying to survive against the stronger puncher in Cotto and plus he broke his orbital bone in that fight which made him more cautious.

I was impressed cuz I thought Paulie would win. But that win didn't convince me Hatton was a master boxer at all.

Against Hatton. He broke his right hand few days before. The fight. Paulie was a one armed fighter.

Just google it. It was talked about before and during the fight.
