i think khan got the message.
he showed so much improvement against barrera.
and actualy listened to his corner.
a step up with a pro trainer and not being surrounded with a bunch of "yes"
    people has helped kid khan.
lets see if he can stay focus and hold it together with kotelnik if it goes into the latter rounds.

Khan will become champion one day with Roach in his corner.

Would of been interesting if the barrera fight would of gone on longer to see what khan realy has.

Watching his last fight Kotelnik seems to be almost like a younger version of Barerra to me lol.

Hands high, back hunched, standing square with seemingly good reflexes/footwork/defense and can **** when he wants.

Also steelhead, Khans fight against Barerra showed us nothing in terms of Khans improvement.
We already knew he had fast hands from a million years ago since he fought in the Olympics. There wasn't anything really special in that fight.

It's easy to look composed against a guy you have a huge advantage over from the very first round.

I saw kotelnik's fight against MBaye on ITV that is the only time i have seen him and i wasn’t exactly impressed he is a solid fighter but nothing special, Khan has an utterly awful chin if you ask me every time he has been hit with anything remotely powerful he has been hurt or in trouble even the Prescott jab buckled him. I think Khan will probably beat kotelnik but one good punch and Khan is in trouble.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I don't think he's all that either.

He seems to be a guy who likes to wait for holes in his opponents offense before throwing, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.

Good in that Khan has shown signs of losing concentration while throwing and getting rocked or put down by counter punches.

Bad in that if he waits too long before he throws he may not have much of a chance to throw anything back and Khan may just end up winning rounds on work rate alone.

I've also noticed that Kotelnik has a very very tight high guard when he's not throwing which may pose a problem for Khan when he throws flurries as he sometimes just throws without anything behind his punches for flashyness.

I think Khan may have to put something into his punches to get through Kotelniks guard which may slow his punches down somewhat unless he uses a lot of lateral footwork to go around the sides and throw head/body combos etc.

I`ve seen that fight. Maidana was putting a heavy pressure on Kotelnik for the whole 12 rounds, and he managed to hurt him ONE time only, and even then he could not knock him down... Amir`s power is nowhere near to Maidana`s... And taking to consideration how good is Kotelnik at counter-punching this fight would be anything but an easy walk for Khan...
some even thought Maidana won the fyt.
kot has proven to be a tough nut to crack.
amir's only chance is his speed, plus a sound fyt plan with freddie.

on side note, maidana will fyt victor ortiz for the wba interim title.
the winner of which will face kot/amir.
victor is inching up to the title if he's that good....

I have just noticed that... Ortiz against Maidana should be a war! And i don`t know whom i would favor in that fight!

I`ve posted it earlier. Today i have watched the Kotelink-Maidana fight again. I have scored it 115-112/116-111 for Kotelnik. But it was a very TOUGH fight for both of them... Maidana had mostly lost because of his inexperience... Should he improve his defense a little - he`ll become a nightmare to anybody!
