O_o Guys i do understand that Boxrec is a great evil... but did you manage to look up at his record at least??? The last guy whom Kotelnik defeated was an undefeated 25(24) KO artist Marcos Maidana...
I`ve seen that fight. Maidana was putting a heavy pressure on Kotelnik for the whole 12 rounds, and he managed to hurt him ONE time only, and even then he could not knock him down... Amir`s power is nowhere near to Maidana`s... And taking to consideration how good is Kotelnik at counter-punching this fight would be anything but an easy walk for Khan...Comment

This is the voice of logic and reason. Kotelnik is very sound fundamentally and has a good chin. Maidana couldn't take him out, and he is a MUCH harder hitting fighter than Khan ever will be. Khan has speed but is weak mentally and his chin is like Glass Joe's in Punch Out. Kotelnik is going to whip Khan's ass.I think this is miscalculation once again on the part of Kahn's management. Kotelnik stopped Gavin Rees, who is far tougher than Kahn. Granted Kahn is faster than Rees and more skilled, but that just goes to show you that Kotelnik can **** as well on top of his skills, and Kahn has been shaken by softer punchers. Considering this fight is not fixed, Kotelnik should beat Kahn.Comment

Did you see his one loss?
I haven't, but from what I've seen of Hall he is solid chinned. I just can't believe he got KO'd by Conception who bless him is a bit rubbish. How is that even possible, did he hit him with a brick?Comment

If Khan can't beat Kotelnik, then he can't beat any world class fighter. Kotelnik is a very good fighter but he's much less of a threat to Khan than Valero, Marquez, Funeka, Prescott, Campbell, or Bradley. I think he's a good test for Khan at this point in his career. My only objection to the fight is that it's too early for him to be fighting for a belt, IMO, he needs some more learning fights under Roach first, to improve his fundamentals and test himself against a variety of styles. If he beats Kotelnik, what then? I don't think he's ready for Ortiz yet. I think he could end up following the path of David Reid, who won a world title before he had had enough learning fights, and then got beaten up so badly by his first genuinely world class opponent he faced after that (Trinidad) that he was never the same again. A much more strategically sound opponent for him at this point in his career would have been David Diaz, or Alex Arthur, IMO. But Warren has never been a long term thinker, and has always put short term titles above the long term welfare of his boxers. It's a shame.I think this is miscalculation once again on the part of Kahn's management. Kotelnik stopped Gavin Rees, who is far tougher than Kahn.
