I don't agree that the Lightweight division is too hot for him if he were matched well. I think he could beat the likes of David Diaz and Alex Arthur right now, and after that, I think he'd be ready to rematch and outbox Prescott. Then he'd be ready for someone like Funaka, and after three tough fights like that under Roach's tutelage, I think he'd be ready for Valero.

By contrast, if he beats Kotelnik, I don't think he'll be ready for Ortiz yet, and certainly not for Bradley or Witter.

Dave Rado: I understand what your getting at now regards Warren, I thought u menat he was gonna chuck Khan in the lions den and get rid of him after he loses.

Regarding sky, they wouldnt give a **** who Khan fights as long as it sells. Most people who buy Khans PPVs remember him from the olympics and dont know who diaz, arthur or Kotelnik are. They just want a title fight. Diaz and Arthur lost their belts.

I think far too much is made of his chin problems, which IMO were mostly a result of his disastrous lack of fundamentals, pre-Roach. Lots of ATGs had weak chins, e.g. Thomas Hearns, Roy Jones, but none of them had such an appalling lack of the fundamentals as Khan had before teaming up with Roach.

by the way I agree this is the way Khan SHOULD do it, I'm just stating why he's not.
As British fan pointed out, Warren promised Khan, Sky, and the British public a title shot. He had to deliver or face losing the contract. (I'd be very surprised if Sky didnt have a clause in there, they know what Warrens like)

I think Arthur is fairly well known in the UK, and Sky could hype it up as an all-British contest, especially as Arthur can punch. Diaz fought Pac, so that should also be easy to hype. I doubt Sky were insisting on an immediate title fight - it's in their long term interest that Khan realises his long term potential and doesn't get destroyed through being rushed too quickly. I suspect they are able to think long term more than Warren is. Warren always goes straight from over-protecting fighters to rushing them into title fights before they've had enough tough learning fights. For all his faults, the best promoter when it comes to match-making young prospects is Arum.

I haven't, but from what I've seen of Hall he is solid chinned. I just can't believe he got KO'd by Conception who bless him is a bit rubbish. How is that even possible, did he hit him with a brick?
No actually i havent but i read him saying he shouldnt have been near a ring yet as he was still suffering and not upto full fitness after being hospitalized in a knife attack, Hall sounds quite nuts in the article im a fan

Thanks for the link! I have just rewatched the fight, and i have it either 116:111 or 115:112 for Kotelnik (I had problems with scoring the eighth round)

I remember when i was watching it for the first time i was very worried, and was impressed with HUGE workrate of Argentinian boxer. That time i though it could be even a draw...

I reallly dislike Khan getting all this PPV and hype time when the true warriors of British boxing, such as Froch and Haye, go under the radar a bit. Especially Froch who gave us two brilliant fights against two of the best North American supermiddleweights and prevailed in both. Khan on the other hand got starched in 54 seconds against an unknown and was brought crashing down to reality.

kotelnik is under-rated and Khan cannot win this fight.
