domination of a deep weight division is good enough for p4p. also longevity and undefeatedness against good-great opposition should be considered.

            it seems like it is!!!

i will need to start focusing more on that!!

still for me... dominating at different weight classes.. give more creditbility to any fighter's p4p status

              no...
as i told the other poster.... hopkins beat a guy who was coming into a fight with him being labeled as one of the top p4p fighters in that moment. when he move up to faced tarver.. he cement his p4p status..

as for vazquez deserving to be in the list...

              right now??

according to my standards. no he shouldnt be. same goes for caballero.

but it seems like im going to start focusing on other aspects... besides moving up/down in divisions... which is the main aspect i take in consideration when it comes to p4p status.. how u have look against quality competitions in different weight classes....

im here to learn & expand my boxing knowledge.

it doesnt matter if i take some heat in the process!!

no one really stay at a weight division long enough to dominate there though.

nard skipped 168... he fought 2 fights at 175 and 2 fights at 170.

given, the 175 division isn't that deep, but that's hardly domination.

P4P is not a literal term....

Its just a concept created so we can compare guys of different weight divisions. So you can compare the "greateness" of a heavyweight or cruiserweight against a bantamweight or featherweight to decide who is better since they can never fight. Its based on skills and who you have beaten, which can be accomplished in a single division or multiple division.

Fighting in multiple divisions should not be a minimum, but at the same time a guy who does will have a better chance of making it, because more than likely he will be moving up in weight, giving the perception of accomplishment by beating men bigger than himself. Also, it will give him access to the best fighters in multiple divisions, and not just his own.

Basically, making the P4P list isnt and "end" of fighting in multiple divisions, but an easier means of making the list.
