Strength and punch resistance are absolutely critical to his style. With those two things he was a wrecking force and the best pressure fighter in boxing, but without those two things he was reduced to a B or C class fighter.

Graham noticed he was not himself against Lazcano, directly after the Mayweather loss, but he wasn't sure why he wasn't the same. He thought it was because of the flu virus he had, but just recently said he now realized he had nothing left after his loss to Mayweather.

Mayweather Sr. tried to teach him things, but the first punch that was landed had him dazed and I don't think he recovered mentally after that point.
Hatton admitted after the fight he never recovered from the first punch, i think he has given all he can and if he wants to carry on fighting then he should just do little fights for the locals in manchester but i can't see him climbing the ladder of the p4p any more, but we never know Hatton is a crazy lad and doesn't give in easily, he has lost his chin anyway and can easily be knocked over now days. But in the end of the day it is his choise and i think that he should stop fighting or just stay local and fight local lads that are wanting to climb to fame!

Exactly, and a guy who "takes a punch to give a punch" without his punch resistance is a brutal KO waiting to happen.

I think it all started with Kostya, he walked flush into several right hands in that fight against the hardest puncher p4p in boxing, then he steps up in class and eats dozens of right hands from the most accurate puncher in boxing, Mayweather. He starts to lose his stamina by round 8, and then gets his gas tank emptied instantly by the check hook. The Hatton that left the ring that night wasn't the same one that entered, as proven in his fight against Lazcano.

Freddie Roach pretty much said the same thing, that his punch resistance was gone after the Mayweather fight which is why Laczano was able to hurt him so many times.

Hatton can only fight fighters without a work-rate and a soft punch. I don't think he will find too many Paulie's anywhere.

I agree, and as i said earlier he doesn't know how to defend himself in a fight so really there is no better thing for Ricky than to retire now, maybe a farewell fight against a weaker fighter, maybe one on the raise. But if he carries on at the top level he'll end up brain damaged!

Yes, when Roy Jones lost his chin, you saw how he adjusted his style and would put up a guard whenever he's not throwing a punch.

Hatton, for whatever reason, just can't adjust.

              Retirement is his only choice.

I'll tell you what, I didn't realize Hatton was that good until seeing how horrible he was the last few fights, if that makes any sense. He will be underrated outside the UK simply because the world didn't see him until he was already past his best.

Well maybe we're stuck to just a last fight in Manchester then and let him enjoy his life!
Maybe in years to come there will be a Campbell Hatton climbing into the ring trying to be the next Ricky, Matthew isn't good enough!

For people who don't know Matthew is his younger brother and Campbell is his son!

I understand what your saying, but Hatton wouldn't want to go out without being known for a good fighter around the world, but if he can't do it no more then there is just no hope for him really!

It cant be good when you have to make weigh at 140 for 10 odd years, He looked horrible at the weigh-in and he isnt good enough to move up to 147..He needs to retire imo.
