I like Manny. He has already lost 3 times and his bandwagon will always be strong. His legacy is secure. 4 Linear titles from Fly to Light Welter. Amazing.Comment

I gotta say that getting beat by the P4P #1 fighter in the sport does not make a fighter 'done'. Especially one with the fanbase of Hatton.
I don't recall anyone saying that Cotto was done after getting pummelled by Margarito, who is nowhere near the top 10 P4P at this time let alone the best.
I think Adamek is close to really stamping his name somewhere, but Chad Dawson has rights before him every time and you know why.
Adamek has done more than Dawson in the past year, but Dawson perhaps should replace De La Hoya or Hatton.Last edited by The Hammer; 05-09-2009, 03:43 PM.Comment

So why replace Hatton who isn't even retired? Hatton is a real warrior and fought the best (and lost, unfortunately for him). Calzaghe never fought no one and is famous for decisioning 2 has been great fighters. I'd keep Hatton, dish Zaghe.Comment

Joe fought a lot of good opponents: Hopkins, Kessler, etc.Comment

It's obvious a loss with Freddie Roach and in his prime is what I was refering to. I know he was in his prime and all against Morales, but he came back and settled the score. As for his following, it's never been as high as is has been over the 6-8 months. People are riding high right now. Sure he was respected and adorted by Filipino's but was not considered an icon as he is today. Hatton was a bigger draw having done less as far back as 6 years ago. Manny didn't put too many asses in seats , so to say. It's easy to ride somebody's wave when they're up and people are naturally going to favor the winning guy especially in a win like that but I am just making it clear that his stock and popularity depends on his record and not so much people juist flat out liking him. It's common sense in light of the Oscar and Hatton wins when they probably weren't even the biggest accomplishments on his resume'. That's all I was saying, take it or leave it. I'm not knocking Manny, I'm knocking the bandwagoneers.Comment
