He's linear and Ring champion in a weight division.

He's had three good wins in the past year: Bell, Cunningham, and the undefeated Banks.

Not replace Calzaghe yet, Mayweather was there a year and a half after he retired.

But Hopkins could replace De La Hoya, who retired under different circumstances.
