As a dedicated fan, I think it's pretty unprofessional for a fighter to pull out of a fight less than a week before it happens. There's two reasons why I believe this. First, heavy training is pretty much over by that point. So, injuries are not part of the reason why the fighter would withdraw. Second, most of the tickets are sold by then so it lets the fans down.

But, and this is key, the fighters actually get into the ring. They deserve a certain benefit of the doubt. I just can't respect when someone refuses to acknowledge that. I respect Rafael as a reporter, but he's goes way overboard as an editorialist.
Oh, yeah I agree that he thinks he is the know all for boxing when he probably knows more about dunkin doughnuts. How did that guy end up being the official boxing spokesman for ESPN anyways?

I think Kenny Maine or Atlas would be more suited for being the boxing officianado for ESPN. Afterall, they are the ones commentating on the actual ESPN fights. Besides Atlas' picks (which he does for shock effect I feel) he is pretty accurate at analyzing matchups and fights and has actually trained fighters which I doubt Rafael has.
