Who else would Manny fight that would bring him that type of money? I am sure he could do alright for himself against whoever, but fighters still make more when they fight in a marquee matchup (aslong as the both keep winning no matter who they fight, this is the fight people want if someone loses all bets are off on that though).

If that happened pac wouldnt need pbf, but he wont duck pbf so the fight would happen. I think you got pac confused with pbf. Pbf would have to take less than pac. And cotto would bring more money than ssm

Alot can happen in 6 months to a year, someone can get a very good win and emerge as a very marketable option at anytime and the willingness of Manny to fluctuate in weight gives him more options. Floyd seems to be set on Pac, but many things can happen which may cause that fight to never happen....though it most likely will.

a fight with mosley and cotto would net the same $$$ as 1 fight with floyd, and cotto and mosley would be more exciting

Now would this be a "healthy" Cotto at 147 or the weight drained Cotto Freddie wants?

No, one of the factors in true megafights is that they really have to build that requires time and the public wanting the fight for a long time. The hype for this fight only started to build after the Pac-Oscar fight, it has built up substanially since then.

Eventually they need each other aslong as they keep winning, if they mess around fighting other guys one could beat beat and mess up the whole thing.

I think Floyd would fight Mosley for sure if he can not get a fight made with Pacman, after that it gets kind of hazy about the possible moves he can make. Would he fight Spinks, Berto or Williams, I personally think he will fight some tough guys in this comeback because basically he can only fight certain guys if he wants to make the money he wants (those happean to be the fights people would like to see).

I want to see what he does with his comeback before I really judge it, I assume it will not end with JMM though~

The Oscar/Pac fight took place in less time than I was giving the boxing landscape a potential window for dramatic change. There are plenty of good fighters out there who I am sure are craving the spotlight and a shot at a marquee fight.
I know plenty of people want to see a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight as I do and that is what Floyd has come back for in the 1st place. To me it seems like Manny is the one who is apathetic about it, and right now he holds the cards and has all of the options not Floyd. This is why I won't get my hopes up on this one just yet.

Right at this exact momement Manny kind of does. I just think Manny understand that is the toughest possible fight and since he just wona very big fight he probably does not want to be bother by something taht is not even on the hook yet. Even if Floyd destroys JMM I do not know if that fight gets made next for them, i want to see it but it will not be an easy fight to make so they might have to break off fight some other people them come back and try again. The longer it drags out the more likely they do not meet in the ring, just because eventually someone will beat one of them.

To me they are just really, they both need big name opposition and in reality there are not that many of those guys in boxing and it is not easy to just make someone a star (to me the best way to burst onto the scene at the moment would be to beat Floyd or Manny). Manny can fight Cotto next, I could see that happeaning. It is a big fight aswell, not as big as the Mayweather fight and there is risk in that fight although if they make Cotto drop to 143ish it could effect him. If Pacman-Cotto comes off the only guy I can see Floyd fighting is Mosley.

I am just going to say both Manny and Floyd win these fights (for the conversation) although both are live opponents, who is next for both men. Is Manny going to fight the top 140 pound guy out there probably Bradley (or someone that beats Bradley) it is a good fight I am sure Pacman would be paid well, but it would be short money compared to his last fights and Mayweather's postion would be roughly the same although at 147 is he going to jsut fight Paul Williams because people say he will give Floyd troubles for less then he wants.

If it gets to this point (beginning of 2010) I think they will need to look each others way. It is boxing though so **** could get messed up at any point along the way to that, there is no denying that.

As it stands, Floyd needs Pac more than Pac needs Floyd. Boxing needs the fight. If Pac somehow beats Mosley/Cotto he wouldnt have to lace up another glove period.
