If Pac were to beat Cotto, would Floyd be s.o.l?

I was thinking, suppose Pacquiao fights Cotto and wins this all presuming Cotto gets past Clottey. At this point, why should Pac even fight Floyd? Moving up and beating one of the top WW would be extremely impressive, and if this scenario played out Pacquiao wouldn't really need Floyd. Even currentl, as far as star power I would say they relative equals. So why would Pacquiao be so willing to give Floyd a paycheck? Couldn't Pacquiao make him jump through hoops and **** Floyd around by claiming he needs to prove himself and fight other top welterweights before fighting him at that point? If the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight doesn't happen the best fight for Floyd financially seems to be Mosley and that is very risky and although it is a very good fight, I doubt it would be the cash drawing super fight Floyd is looking for......any ideas opinions?

I think he would be very happy, since Floyd would not have fought Cotto. A shame because I think Floyd would TKO Cotto.

Floyd doesn't need Pacquiao, under any circumstances. If it's about money, Floyd can go ahead and fight Hatton in manchester for Hatton's farewell fight which would fill out any stadium and plus it's easy money for Floyd. Pacquiao telling Floyd he needs to prove himself would just be clowning himself because Floyd can just go the Pacquiao route and fight everyone that Pacquiao fought, in this case "Pacquiao beats Cotto" so, Mayweather goes ahead and fights Cotto too. Just like Pacquiao made a name for himself for defeating Mayweathers leftovers.

Also, Amir Khan's next fight is at 140 vs Kotelnik. Floyd can fight Khan at a 143-144 catchweight for big bucks in his home turf. I doubt Pacquiao gets by Cotto in the first place though(if it where to happen).

Pacman fans like the OP of this thread don't worry. Arum will come up with enough excuses to keep Floyd from slapping up Manny you don"t have to invent scenarios.

True, Arum doesnt want to spoil his cash cow right away. Floyd would beat up on Pac.

False. He would be fighting lesser quality fighters and all that would do is PROVE he needs to fight a HOF fighter like FMJ.

If it would turn out to be a case where Floyd wins against JMM but doesn't look impressive, and Pac beat Cotto.....I would say Floyd does need Pac.
