Ok, Cooper is an old man of an older generation, i can stand why hes upset about Haye but Cooper i tell you something: This is a new generation get used to it! Welcome to 2009!
I don't see why everybody seems so bent out of shape over this.
It's just a t-shirt, guys.
It's because it plays to the lowest common denominator of society which makes all Boxing fans look bad. We are turning more and more into WWF every day. Casual fans even assume the fights are fixed. That is why the sport struggles to get mainstream respect. Bring back the magic carpet rides to the ring and let them all laugh at us.
Did i talk to you? No.
Did i hurt your feelings? I guess i didn`t say anything insulting to you, so NO.
Did you behave like a little aggressive child? Rather Yes.
Are you same brave with everybody you meet? I doubt...
Red karma for me, but please, spare me your ignorance...
Yes. I am SAME brave with everyone I meet. I've been told I'm very confrontational. But you are acting like Cooper's opinion really counts for something. Newsflash it doesn't. Haye started wearing the shirt to get the Klits in the ring. Now he is wearing it to sell tickets. Let him do his job and you do yours by typing on your keyboard and STFU!!!!

Same brave means that you meet somebody in the street, and as he says his opinion you tell him to shut the **** up.
Yes, Cooper`s opinion counts for something. As he did to boxing more than you, than me, or anybody else on this forum... So more than anybody he has right to share his opinion. And you may disagree on that...
Did i say anything about Haye`s T-shirt??? I guess you`re misinterpreting what you read...
You may say "STFU" to your friends, relatives, if you consider yourself so smart in terms of human relations, but as you talk to a stranger keep your emotions to yourself. Stop behaving so idiotic. The fact that everybody here is probably miles away from you, and doesn`t know who you are, doesn`t mean you won`t get paid for your behavior ever... And saying "STFU" doesn`t make you look smarter, or dominant...

Let's be honest, guys..at it's core boxing, like all combat sports from the ancient gladiators through medieval tourneys and right up to today, appeals to the lowest common denominator of society - bloodlust, or something very closely related to it. However you dress it up, and some combat sports do more than others and whatever merits they may also bring (courage, determination, spectacle, honour, etc) they are about an audience watching two guys/girls beat the crap out of each other. The Haye T-shirt is all about publicity, and I'm certainly not suggesting some deeper meaning! - but, in an odd way, Haye is being more honest about the sport than anyone else; fighters are more than fans.
I respect Henry Cooper and his opinions, but he's wrong on this IMHO. The ticket sales have been excellent and they'll fill their footie stadium... does anyone seriously think that would have happened against anyone else, just maybe Valuev excepted? And I don't see anyone being 'driven away'. Haye has done the sport and particularly the HWs a big favour, win or lose.
And the guy, like KTFO Ali in their fight. And, arguably, only Ali`s incredible corner let him finish the fight??? Yeah... a bum...
I dont care what he did to a young skinny kid named Clay, he was dominated in both fights except that 1 left hook he landed. U dont think Haye could have Dropped Cassius with one of His Hayemakers if he landed?
Cooper lives off of that ****, guy couldnt even beat Bugner
And to critasize Haye over his antics is crazy considering how much the guy loves Ali aka the master of mind games and insults!
Haye isnt a bad guy he did this for two reasons, to make the fights happen and to increase his chances of winning by getting under Klitchkos skin, smart tactics and he tickets are flying out the door! Brought some excitement too i loved it

Absolutely correct... Copper was in the Ali era of Heavyweights and still frowns upon Hayes methods of pre fight hype? It is a bit foolish.
Cooper is too old fashoned......and too much of anything aint good!......I will be wearing the shirt to the fight and if he's there I'll flaunt it like .......he too old to talk.....people his age write books and shake hands......

A little overdramatic, no?
Boxing is entertainment. Bottom line.
I don't see how David Haye trying to gain the psychological advantage over Klitschko (let's face it, he needs it) is akin to anything you'll find in the WWE realm.
Athletes always try to find a way to gain a mental advantage going into a big fight or a big game.
Be it in boxing, MMA, basketball, football, hockey, what have you.
