I was told the fight was being eyed for a September date, but now I'm hearing August on Showtime. [details]

Besides as of now, the fight doesnt make sense, till Juanma wins a big fight, and Gamboa beats anything besides a Bum!!!!!!!!!

      So nope, not just yet.

give it 2 years and you will see it!!!!!!
If one of them loses by then in this fight dont happen i'm blaming you buddy!!!

celestino caballero looked weak in his last fight but seriously
there is a better chance of gamboa vs roinet caballero fighting
caballero is at least 3 times more dangerous than any opponent gamboa has faced

bad match making in terms of developing gamboa. its not a good idea when your getting dropped by bums while not having fought a gatekeeper or contender.

Then to go straight to caballero?

Gamboa shutout and dominated the only fighter to ever knockout Caballero (Cheo Rojas) in his last fight and Rojas had actually won rounds and drew against John in his last few fights prior to Gamboa. And before that Yuriorkis beat a top 20 or 30 Jr. lightweight in Darling Jimenez.

Gamboa could easily beat 2 of the 4 titlist, but Caballero is a higher profile fight that is tougher, but he can win it. His defense has gotten good enough to mess with a guy like Caballero who doesn't really know how to use his length.

I dont think Gamboa is bigger. As an amateur Gamboa was much lighter and since he turned pro he gained much muscle, while Cabballero fought at 122, the lowest division he could fight at. Naturally Cabballero is the bigger man but Gamboa trained himself "bigger". Cabballero is a skinny mother****er and has much trouble making 122 so moving up will do good for him. But Gamboa is so talented and fast that im shure he will beat Cabba

I think some of Gamboas opponents were already gatekeeper or contender level. It just dont look like that because Gamboa makes them look like bums.

                      exciting match-up, it should happen.
good for caballero to step up rather than face juanma with weight burden.
gamboa has the betting odds but the fyt is certainly 50-50.
i follow the run-up to this fyt!!
