  • Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Possible, Without Haymon

It seems the only way a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao becomes possible - is if Al Haymon is not involved in the negotiations. Haymon, the manager/adviser for Mayweather [among other fighters] is a thorn in the side of Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum. The two men don't like each other and had a serious blowout during last year's negotiations for a fight between Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams. [details]

I don't see the problem. All Floyd has to do is get everything written down that Haymon advises and go in with a Lawyer/someone else experienced in this matter to make sure everything is Kosher. If that is what it takes to get a fight...why not. Plus, Arum has Cotto as well so Floyd has to look out for his future fights as well.

The 65/60% is still bs unless he has numbers to back it up that are far greater than Mayweathers...which I doubt. But it's probably just a starting point that should go down to 50/50. And that is why Floyd is fighting JMM...chips.

      Winner takes 52, loser 48.

Actually, that is good idea. Bigger profit for the winner. This way, both are hungry to win. They should start giving out bonuses for KO's as well.

I don't know if any fight is more deserving of a 50-50 split that Mayweather-Pac.

I don't care if Manny fights Cotto or Floyd. They'll both be good fights to watch.

But JCC Jr. The kid isn't going to be an ATG. He's no competition for Pacman even if he is bigger. Cuello almost beat him. Perhaps would of but the judges gave JCC Jr. the decision.

its manny who is the reigning P4P king right now..
if only floyd dont hang up his gloves for a moment maybe arum wud be able to be considerable, but as he retires he left everything to manny..

"be my guest" thats all he(arum) said.. and i think thats final..
              since that may 2nd anhillation,
manny intensified ownage for the crown floyd left..
that would be fair enough al haymon and floyd shud be a lil bit of a guest..
              55-45 imo..

So it looks like Shane is out. That leaves Cotto and Floyd. Can Cotto come down that far in weight?

At least they are admitting by not fighting any of them at 147 that Oscar was a dead man and that is the only reason they took that chance.

The inevitable is the fight will be made due to public demand and hype. Before we get there though, part of the game plan is to create drama beginning with the promoters, purse split, weight, ring size, gloves, venue, and trainers. Could be fight of the decade but might not be as big as PBF/DLH because of the weak global economy.
