I don't see why IF Marquez makes it past Floyd, and that's a big IF, they can't fight at Lightweight for Marquez's lineal title?

I mean Roach said himself that Manny weighed 138 after he ate breakfast on Saturday, what's an extra 3 pounds if he's not fluctuating around 140? Manny can easily fight at Lightweight, I don't doubt that.

Honestly, after the Mayweather fight if he loses, or even if he wins, I say Pacquiao goes back to 135 for one or two more fights to clean up the contenders there in Marquez, Valero and possibly Guzman.

I think if pac takes an interim fight, he should pick up a legit belt. that means bradley, kotelnik or urango.

Well Roach can hire him as sparring partner and I agree that he's probably the best man to simulate PBF in the gym.

I'm just thinking maybe Pac could go for a 7th belt against a lesser champ to prep him for these top 147-pounders calling him out, because if he intends to fight Cotto or Mosely, a legit 147 would be the his best test, IMO.

Andre Berto and his WBC strap comes to mind. His last 2 opponents had experiences with Pac's last 2 victims. I'm talking about Forbes and Collazo. Pac can test the waters against a live Welter and make history again in the process.

Yeah, the 138/breakfast story sort of runs counter to what Roach has
been saying about Manny having outgrown 135. However, Marquez isn't
going to be the "interim" opponent, now, is he?

Valero's almost zero defense would be easy pickings for Pac.
          Guzman's too much of a flake-risk. Nate's a promotional nightmare,
generating the least heat of the names so far, though I've long been
waiting for a match between him and Pac.

I rather like the idea of taking on Berto. Good odds, and a good tuneup
towards either Mayweather or Cotto, or even Shane. If JMM somehow
kicks the crap out of Floyd, then Nate might make more sense as prep.

          h.

Valero would be too quick a fight for a tune up. Can't think of anybody who can fight pac for a tune up.

If JMM's last 3 fights are

                1. Mayweather
                2. Valero
                3. Pacquiao

He will have the biggest balls in all of Mexico. And he only has to win one of those fights to be considered a top30 ATG.
You must be out of your mind.

You ashole. No but seriously, Guzman would help prepare him for someone like Mayweather

That'd be a good tune up

Joan Guzman can possibly go the full 12. He has GREAT defense

Guzman would be of a good tune up!
