Pac and Mayweather are equally important to the draw if they fight. If some of the clowns on here would stop pretending otherwise for their own twisted-up reasons, allowing their personal feelings to warp reality to their liking, these tensions over some PPV stats wouldn't arise.Comment

If there weren't agendas on both sides, those who have a special interest in the business end of boxing would just thread the **** up, discuss it and it wouldn't all be so touchy.

I never understand why people get so emotional.

HBO and PPV. is it really cheap and why do they act like it
What I really dislike about these big HBO executives is that they fail to realize how ****** they can sound at times
"On the surface it might seem unlikely that many folks would drop $49.95 for a pay-per-view telecast of a boxing match when they’re failing to pay their mortgages, when they’ve lost 35 percent or more of their retirements because of the recent market collapses and are now faced with mounting credit card debts.
But people seek entertainment in even the darkest economic times and pay-per-view often turns out to be a cheap form of entertainment, said Mark Taffet, the president of HBO Pay-Per-View. Taffet said studies have shown that, on average, five to seven people share the cost of a pay-per-view fight.
I bolded what I did, because IMO when you put the pieces together it doesn't make sense take the following
1. a boxing PPV costs $49.95, which is 5 cents short of $50, and it's unlikely people would by them. Fair enough, I still find it a bit absurd boxing has PPV's but anyway.
2. People seek entertainment, very true.
3. Pay Per view is a cheap form of entertainment ... uh at $50 I wouldn't consider that cheap ... read the next thing I bolded
4. On average 5 to 7 people share the cost of a PPV fight
interesting how it's seen as cheap yet people have to share the costs ... why would someone have to share costs with other people if it's cheap?
and this is coming from the HBO president of PPV.Comment
