  • As much as I want to see it, JMM won't beat Floyd

I'll be rooting for Marquez come fight night, but I really don't fancy his chances

As good a boxer that JMM is, he is there to be hit... Diaz caught him flush all through the first half of their fight, and wobbled him several times

Although Floyd isn't the fastest puncher he's faced, he'll be hitting him harder than any of his previous opponents (Floyd's power is underrated IMO)

Marquez's strong point is clearly his counterpunching, but Floyd won't be rushing in with flurries to get countered, he'll be his usual self... strategically picking shots which will prove to be a nightmare come fight night for JMM

The Diaz performance was excellent, but a comeforward, soft hitter was well suited for Marquez

I think both fighters will be cautious for the first 3-4 rounds, with Floyd going on to stop him in 9.

Breaks my heart to acknowledge this **** but it's truth Travi$. DLH picked on a lil guy and got a much deserved ass whoopin for it. I'd luv to see it happen to Mr boat buyer too, but I don't think JMM can do it. He'll press hard for it, but he's too goddamn small. Salute his warrior heart tho.

I will be shocked if Marquez beats Mayweather as well. You're right about the Diaz fight too. He was taking a lot of punches and appeared to be hurt a few times against Juan who isn't really a devastating puncher IMO. I don't think Floyd's inactivity will be significant enough for Marquez to win.

It's crazy to think that a year ago he was weighing in at 129...

I don't believe Floyd is at blame for picking on the smaller man either, Marquez came up in weight and now has taken the risk for the big payday.

I'll be rooting for JMM but the odds are definitely stacked against him. It'd be epic to see him pull off an upset.

              I gotta agree.

Juan Manuel is too damn small for Floyd.

But I'll be supporting him anyway, come fight night.

The things he's accomplished and the performancs he's put on in the last year alone are amazing to me, for a guy who was fighting at 130 just last year.

You can bet your ass that Marquez won't go down without a fight though.

Dude crawled up off the mat after having his nose shattered and getting dropped 3 times in the first round of the first Pacquiao fight.

He'll dig as deep as he possibly can, and Floyd may have to move mountains to finish his ass off.

i don't think floyd punches harder than pac, but floyd is just too big for jmm. it will be a chess match. I think JMM might go 12.

The biggest think everybody should remember when this fight actually happens, is that Mayweather has never been in the ring with a counterpuncher of even close to the ability of Marquez. He's used to being able to counter himself, putting together 4 to 6 punches, without being fired back at until after he's finished and already moving back out.

That won't happen with Marquez. Floyd will mostly likely get one or two punches off before getting hit with reflexive counters, and I think this will shut down a large part of Floyd's offense.

I'm not saying JMM will win, but I do give him a fair chance of it, and the betting odds (he'll be a 3 or 4 / 1 underdog, come fight night, unless I miss my guess) won't reflect the chance he actually has of winning here. If (and it's a big if) his counters shut down Mayweather as much as I think it could, Marquez could take a decision win over "Money". If Mayweather doesn't figure out a way to avoid JMM's counters fairly early, he could end up actually getting KO'd by Marquez.

I give Marquez about a 40% chance of pulling off a win. Better than most think, but not quite even odds.
