Mayweather comes forward and is more aggressive when he is fighting smaller men, I think he will come out early and put pressure on Marquez to see if he can handle a welterweight's power. Mayweather coming forward may provide Marquez with more oppurtunities for him to attack but he still won't land often and when he does land his power will have no affect on Mayweather.

Mayweather will land pretty often with the right hand, left hook and right uppercut. I expect Mayweather to stop Marquez but Marquez is tough so he may last the distance.

Agreed. Look at JMM's performances against elite competition. Look at Hatton's.

combine that fact with the 2 year layoff and i reckon Mayweather will be hit cleaner and more more regularly than we're used to seeing

I will say this no one hits anyone cleaner with punches than Marquez

        Pacquiao
        Juan Diaz
        Barrera
        Casa

so it does intrigue me if he can be patient enough to do the same with Money

Marquez has already shown that. In his last fight with Pac, Manny came into the ring as a WW.

And MP has much more power than PBF

PBF will have to put on the best performance he has had in 6 or so years. This is not Gatti or Baldomir, this is JMM. I think PBF will indeed be hit more than he has in years but his power may be a bit much for Marquez. I don't really see why people keep mentioning Diaz's performance against Marquez because Diaz and Floyd are nothing a like.

Diaz is a pressure fighter all the time, that is how he wins by grinding the other guy down with constant pressure and quick shots with little power.

Mayweather uses speed and clever defensive tactics to counter the other guy, he rarely puts together combos consisting of more than 3 punches and does not brawl but pot-shot. I feel that Mayweather is only targeting Marquez for his age and the weight disadvantage plus he can say I beat the guy that beat Pac twice and this also gives him an excuse not to fight Pac if he has a hard time against Marquez but still gets the win. He can say I don't need to fight Pac because I beat Marquez and he beat Pac so.......

People are entitled to their opinions but I think this will be a close fight.

              1) I disagree on the weight issue. I genuinely think that Mayweather doesn't look at weight the way all the other guys do. When he was at 130, he was calling out Oscar, who was a scary welterweight at the time. When he was at 130, he was calling out Shane, who was a REALLY scafry LW. PBF gave up 18 pounds on fight night to Oscar.
Floyd will be the bigger man, but i don't think he's looking at that as a barrier for JMM because he didn't necessarily view it as a barrier for himself.

              2) Floyd came back for money. Any of the big fights that will make him money are the fights that NSB has said they wanted to see. with Pac being the biggest of them all. Floyd will fight Pac. I'd bet my left nut on it.

              3) I agree that this is a close fight. It is a pick 'em fight. Marquez is five pounds smaller. Floyd is two years inactive. They both bring questions into this fight.

I expect Floyd to dig to Marquez' body with the left hook. And the jab to the diaphragm.

Funny how Marquez doesnt garner the respect he deserves when talking about this matchup. Marquez is a very good counter puncher, he will make it very interesting and the fight will be competitive.
