This is a really tough fight for Floyd.

JMM is the #2 P4P fighter who seems to have increased in power in his last two fights. Casamayor and Baby Bull were never stopped previously. Marquez is a smart, experienced fighter. Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters of all time. If not for a couple of KD's, Marquez would have beat Manny twice.

So, Marquez is a great, great fighter who is giving up about five pounds or so. That is offset, as Juan says, by the two years of inactivity that Floyd brings. You can't just get off your sofa after two years and beat a HoF fighter. That is the stuff of legend. SRL-type stuff.

To accomplish this, PBF must ensure that he gets great sparring to bring his sharpness back. But where do you get sparring partners as smart and skilled as JMM? Floyd must be more aggressive and try to put some distance on the scorecards via a KD or two. JMM can be caught. But his heart is amazing.

Floyd must ensure that his stamina is first-rate. JMM hasn't tired.

To beat JMM, Floyd will have to ensure his defense is the difference. Offensively, they are about even.

    Power - even
    Speed - Floyd
    Defense - Floyd
    Offense - Marquez slight advantage
Intangibles - Marques (active, on a streak)
    Training/Corner - Marquez

This is a pick 'em fight.

A lot. I think he'll get tagged some - given his age and layoff - but I doubt he'll be seriously troubled. And I'm sure he won't mind trading if need be, too.

Diaz's speed troubled him...in fact, Diaz's power troubled him too. Once Floyd works out the kinks he's going to do a number on Marquez's grill.
to me JMM sets traps more than ever so Floyd needs to feint him out of position and counter JMM's counters. JMM squares a bit more now so if Floyd keeps his shots down the middle he will be there to hit. On the inside Floyd has to employ his armbar to create space as I think he is the stronger fighter. If can seperate space then he can attack on the inside as well as outside. Minimize the shoulder roll because you know Nacho is focusing his gameplan on how to defeat that since it's what Floyd is known for (even though I think he only uses it when he rests)

everything Floyd does is better than what Marquez does IMO with the exception of putting punches togther so its really his fight to lose

Mayweather just has to be ready for anything and everything.

JMM stands a better chance then Hatton did in my opinion.

Seems about right. What I fear (not hate) is that Floyd gets on his bike for an easy boring decision or late stoppage. JMM has zero chance in this fight.

The dark horse will only be how rusty Floyd is. But I would expect him to come in ultraprepared. Floyd is a pro to the fingertips make no mistake.

Mayweather won't have fought someone with precision and offensive smarts* as effective as Marquez's

(* i didn't really know how to put this, i mean someone who picks their punches so well and puts them together so expertly)

combine that fact with the 2 year layoff and i reckon Mayweather will be hit cleaner and more more regularly than we're used to seeing

Good analysis homie. I like the break down. I like when we can have good detail discussion about big fights. It gets boring around here when everyone is shouting about who is going to win and all that. Its so much BETTER when we can discuss WHY we think a fighter will win like GROWN INTELLIGENT MEN.

...YES THATS MY FAMILY!!! WE WILL BE GETTING MARRIED IN SEPTEMBER!!!!
