You said it yourself, Dawson was suppose to fight Tavoris Cloud under IBF rules but they allowed Tarver to have his rematch first. So don't be saying that Dawson is ducking Cloud when there was a rematch claus in the contract.

Blame the promoter, not the fighter. When has Dawson ever had a chance to cultivate a fan base? The closest he's come is when he was a prospect and a regular at New England cards.

Winky Wright and Paul Williams didn't exactly break box office records either. It's Vegas, the economy and the old, lazy way of promotion that doesn't really work anymore.

you state that he is ducking Cloud for guys like Calzaghe and Hopkins

you cant have it both ways. Wouldn't it be better for his profile to go after the bigger names than a guy literally no one outside of the hardcore has heard of? say he fights and beats Cloud that also takes away really the only true young talent at 175 and a possibly bigger match up down the road.

I haven't liked Dawson since he ducked Diaconu for the eliminator in 2006, then ducked him to fight Jesus Ruiz in 2007, and early in the next year 2008 first ducked him to fight Johnson, then later didn't have the courage to fight Diaconu in Europe, after the purse bid was won by Adrian's promoter (lot's of other boxers fight away from their home country: Froch, Bradley, Cunningham, Adamek, John, Hatton, JMM, etc.).

Of the five times he was to fight Diaconu: one time, Sep 07 Diaconu was injured, the other four times, Dawson weaseled his way out of the fight.

Now watch and see, he won't fight Tavoris Cloud.

nah he aint ducking Cloud he's ducking Glen Johnson and Diaconu my man....Tarver is a easy buck the first time and even easier buck the second time and he can hide behind the "REMATCH CLAUS".....Lefty
