Itīs short notice for Johnson too. And Vargas comes to this in shape, as he was scheduled to face Bruce Seldon on the same card.

Vargas was a brillant amature winning the National Golden Gloves and Competed at the 2004 Olympics. And in his pro career has never tasted defeat in 17 fights.
It a shame he hasn't had a full camp, but I still expect this to be a very interesting one......

And like I said if Johnson is as good as he says he is should win this one. But should expect a tough fight
With all due respect, BULL****. I've seen vargas lose in person against a low-level journeyman, but the judges robbed the poor guy and kept Vargas' record intact. This fight is actually worse than if Barrett was in there. Can anyone here actually say they've seen Vargas in a good performance? Really, I'm not kidding. I've also been ringside when Johnson was dominating his opponent but wasn't trying to get him out of there and the entire crwod was booing him. to be honest, this fight sucks, and thats a shame because of Vargas' amatuer background and all the talent that Johnson has. Now Boytsov/*****ko is a good young fight and if Dimitrenko/Chambers goes down, oh *** yeah I'd be excited.

I'm just happy it's not another bum facing Johnson - his poor opposition has been a waste of his talent.
Eh, it just kind of reminds of Demetrius Hopkins did when he threw his 0 away when he fought Kendall Holt.

He obviously wasn't prepared, and his fighting in the ring showed it.

Run and jab was his strategy, and Holt dealt with it easily.

I hope Vargas has been keeping himself in shape at least before he got this call.

Either way, good for Johnson taking a step up, even with a short notice Vargas.

Some people are saying Vargas has not improved since the Olympics. If this is correct, it will be an easy win for Johnson.

Kevin Johnson is a joke, little power, and little technical skills, all he has is a jab. I expect Vargas to beat him UD.
