Mayweather vs. Pavlik or JMM vs. Mayweather. Equally (un)fair?

Marquez is roughly about the same size minus maybe an inch. the difference is that Marquez is like many other fighters who drain and dehydrate to make the weigh in while Floyd could have done the same and fought at 130 much longer and be now 135-140 but he would rather not do that and has enough skills to compete against some of the bigger guys within reason. They are roughly the same size naturally and I'd bet money that Marquez walks around heavier than Floyd just as Hatton did but he cuts to compete in lower divisions. Thats the difference in size between them. Pavlik has a completely different sized body and is WAY bigger so Mayweather would never fight him but people shouldn't make such a big issue about a size difference here. Of course it would be nice for him to fight Mosley but people are saying that Pacquiao is #1 and Mayweather wants to stop that talk. Thats what this fight with Marquez is about. Even though Marquez is better than a tune up it's a fight that he better be prepared for and is to get him ready for Pacquiao
    Good post... Green K sent.

am I against weight divisions, no. because usually fighters in every weight class are generally the same height but, I do think there are twice as many weight classes as there should be. most weight divisions were created for the sole purpose of making the boxing organizations more money through royalties and some ppl can't see past that and make their own judgments.

and you're trying to make it look like that your "weight" argument is more valid than my "height and reach" argument. if you have any boxing knowledge at all, I think you can figure out the ridiculousness in that.

Glad to see people are realizing that Mayweather is a natural welter.

The actual weigh in counts much less, actually.

If Vinny Paz and Roy Jones weighed in the same, it didn't mean jack **** on the night of the fight. And we can say that for so many other fights in history.
Rules are rules. It doesn't matter what the weigh AFTER the weigh-in. Those weight are unofficial and is strictly speaking irrelevant for the sporting contest at hand.

Weight divisions are there for a reason and procedure is what it is today for a reason. The alleged fact that Floyd does not gain as much weight as others supposedly do is completely irrelevant. Otherwise I suggest that he waited to eat his breakfast and took a dump before he weighed in. That way, following your logic, would enable Floyd to fight at 140 no sweat.

Stop spotlighting other ****. What you're getting into is human anatomy.. And that JLC case is a whole different topic.

And even if your singular case meant anything to the argument, it doesn't help prove that official weights are more important overall.

to be honest i would have no problem with a fight at 156 ( floyd came down 4 pounds so does pavlik )

i also feel as though if that fight did happen pav would come in weaker seeing as he shouldnt be below 160 and floyd with his speed timing and defense would whoop pavlik handily winning a wide ud.

now can we just enjoy the fight , you dont have to watch the fight if you dont like it cry me a river and dont watch.

How can the weights of two different fighters on the night of a fight be irrelevant? You're just not making sense.
