Diaz got knocked beacuse he thought markez wasnt strong to do hurt him.. Boxers who do that kind of fight, are at risk of getting ko.. Just watch what happend to Margarito..

Marquez didn't hurt him with any combinations until he cut him in the 8th, and like you said Diaz doesn't take cuts well. Just ask Nate Campbell. lol. I never saw Diaz looking hurt in the fight until he got busted open.

He never really looked hurt in any other fight I seen him in. But those punches were adding up, untill he KO him.

I didn't say JMM. I was suggesting your examples of people wining after getting KD never tried to keep bringing the fight after they had their guy down. I do think JMM won the 2nd fight.

Threadstarter....the most effective Marquez has been against Pacquiao is not when he was counterpunching...it's when he actually went on the offensive.

If anything I saw Pacquiao landing more counters that 2nd fight than Marquez.

Its also a testament to how vastly Pacquiao improves every fight.

That knockdown in the 3rd round was a counter. When Pacquiao staggered Marquez in the 10th....that was a counter.

When Marquez had Pacquiao wobbled in the 2nd...that was not a counter...that was offense.

When Marquez had Pacquiao reeling in the 8th....and nearly scored a 10-8 round which would have made the fight a draw...was Marquez counterpunching?? No sir....he was on the offensive.

Moral of the of the story is that Marquez did not find the blueprint to defeat Pacquiao. Morales did...when he stayed on the offensive for 12 rds.
