No, but I think you are favoring a guy who has fought nothing but straight up bums. I don't give a **** about his amateur career, I give a **** what he has done as a pro and thus far he has done squat **** looking at his boxing record.

Dominic Guinn had a great amateur background too.

Rocky is a homer, he doesn't know anything cept that he is trained by Freddie Roach and thinks it means an automatic W.

Vera has sparred with Arthur Abraham and held his own on top of defeating Andy Lee who is still more highly regarded than McEwan.

Being with Golden Boy and Freddie Roach doesen't win the fight for you, just ask Gerry Penalosa.

I was at McEwen's last fight in Vegas, and he did look in complete control, very poised and professional. He KOed his opponent with a body punch.

I also saw him last year (I think it was on the Mosley-Mayorga undercard) and he didn't impress me much that time.

So he may be improving, we'll see tonight.

I've seen McEwan fight once and I wasn't impressed. He knokced out his opponent I think but nothing extraordinary. honestly think putting him up ther with Vera is a mistake. Vera is very very game. Vera stopped Lee and sure he lost to Kirkland but he gave Kirkland hell and Kirkland seemed to be getting frustated at the fact theat he couldnt stop him on his tracks. The fight did get stopped but Vera was fighting back. If both Lee and Kirland couldnt stop Vera, McEwan has no chance in hell so he better get that **** out his mind. Im betting McEwan starts out the first 2 rounds fresh boxing then starts getting frustrated at Vera durability and gets knocked out in about the 5th or 6th round.

Anyone got a sweet link for this, and I'll give you Karma or something.

Surely McEwan is going to win this if he is as highly touted as he is. Vera is probably British Championship level (if he was a Brit) if I was going to place him at some kind of a level, he is game, courageous but ultimately limited.

Andy Lee lost because he has zero inside fighting skills. Absolutely zero, that's fine in the Amateurs, or if your 6'7. I like Lee alot but he has stagnated, I think Matt Macklin would beat him personally.
