Actually America only matters because you have a consumer led society which is totally geared towards buying, the sense of which has proven to be entirely flawed. The general population are just fodder for almost all forms of products and services which can be more easily mass marketed to the already well trained minds of Americans to buy buy buy, consume, consume, consume...........it's called the Amercian Dream and they are in the midst of a stark reality of a slow demise and detoriation in almost all forms of modern expression from sports, arts, films to wars, ideology and culture.

Of course I'm generalising, but America's dominance is certianly taking a battering.
