marquez knocked out 2 fighters that have never been knocked out in his last 2 fights while manny stops 3 fighters that have all been stopped before
Second, both Casamayor and Diaz was tagging JMM at will, both were close fights till the KOs. Manny have shut out and KO his 3 opponents and was barely touched, le alone hurt. JMM was hurt by featherfisted Diaz. manny looks faster and looks like he have more power.
The combination of all that, plus the fight at 140= Manny KTFO JMM!!!!!!!!

I've watched this fight over and over again, had it watched by a panel of boxing fans, and brought into an editing suite, slowed down and analyzed punch by punch, round by round and came to the same conclusion as the thread starter.
Pac by one point.
People bring up the COMPUBOX stats that states that JMM threw more and was more accurate than Manny for 12 rounds. However, if you really understand boxing, like I expected most people here do, it is not the total amount of punches connected the whole fight, but whoever scores the most points in a 10-9 scoring system, is the one who wins a fight that goes the distance.
The 10-8 round that Pac scored in the 3rd is the major difference in their fight. You could also argue that JMM could have been given a 10-8 round in the 8th after dominating Pac in that stanza, but that would still give Marquez a draw. Pac still didn't lose.
Manny won that fight fair and square and will never be given credit because for some people, I believe, it is hard to accept that a fighter from a small island nation from Asia could just tear up great Mexican fighters, who have dominated the lighter weight divisions for many decades. Who can blame them, the last great Filipino fighter who made an impression overseas was Pancho Villa in the 1920's? For them, Manny's victory over their great and proud heroes, were inconceivable.
It's like an ex running away with an ugly MOFO. You just can't believe it can happen.
Manny won the 2nd fight by one point.
The interesting thing is that PAC vs JMM II are parallel in scope, drama and result with IZZY vs RAFA III, with one point, the low blow this time instead of a knockdown, deciding the fight.
But you don't hear people, especially Mexicans, arguing vehemently about who won the fight. They are just thought of as two great Mexican warriors who fought valiantly and unfortuanately one had to lose.
But with Pac, it's different. No love for the Pacman when it comes to his monumental fights with the great Mexicans. They are either too old (Barrera), shot (Morales), too green (Solis), not in their prime (Barrera & Morales) or they were robbed (Marquez).

After Pacquiao had a draw with Marquez in their first fight, Roach said he felt it was needed to improve Pacquiao into a two handed fighter after criticism that he relied too much on his left hand against Marquez.
The new and improved Pac was matched against Morales as a 2/1 favorite. Skysports commentators told us to look out for the new "Manila Ice" right hand. Well, Pacquiao lost in a clinic and an old Morales.
Pacquiao waits until Raheem destroys Morales, then defeats him finally in the rematch a whole year later, and again in the 3rd fight by TKO. Suddenly Pacquiao is in the top 3 p4p rankings after that win.
Fast forward a couple years, we're told by Roach once again, "Pacquiao is so much improved now, he will beat anyone!"
Next up, a rematch with Marquez, 4 years later. The "greatly improved" Pacquiao arguably loses again.
I'm seeing a pattern here... Pac faces prime fighters, looks like ****, faces bums or old men, now he's "improved". We heard it all before Roach. The next elite prime fighter he faces he will look like ****, once again for the 3rd time!

Compare the 1st and 2nd fights, both shown in the clip above...
Pacquiao doesn't look improved much at all when he faces another prime fighter. He only looks improved against zombies or destroyed leftovers ruined by someone else.
