Manny Pacquiao is the face of boxing now. Boxing will be fine without De La Hoya. And when Pacquaio is gone, somebody new will spring up, it always happens. Boxing have been dying for 100 years.

If Mike were doing PPVs he would be the ultimate rip off. I would keep on buying though.

Wow, if this is true, ****, if it's even close to those numbers Pacquiao-Mayweather will be an incredibly hard fight to make. Both of them will want the bigger purse and in fact neither should get more than the other, Mayweather sold more against De La Hoya and Pacquiao against Hatton. Let's see if Floyd can out do him numbers-wise (because he's not knocking out JMM in 2, lol).

I'm not a big fan of Luevano, but he would have took Concepcion to school, losing a couple rounds at best. Kirkland would have hurt Walker for however long it lasted. What these undercards need is at least one bloody slugfest instead of this garbage prospect FNF undercard level fights.

Why dont people want to believe these numbers? You all should be happy it did so much in these economic times.

Uuuuhhhhh... (speaking for myself) because it came from the promoters' mouth and you should wait for confirmation. Arum did the same with De La Hoya-Pacquiao and was off by a couple hundred thousand.

Waiting until the numbers are actually tallied up has absolutely nothing to do with being happy about these numbers or not. ****, I'm ecstatic that the greatest sport in the world got so much pub and people buying into it and got to see the #1 P4P boxer deliver a devastating knockout. Nonetheless, you are right, anything over a million is a success and we should be happy; especially since I pegged it at 700-900K

I'm so happy that this fight did those kind of numbers, mainly because the next time someone says boxing is dying and starts talking about the UFC and how it's taking over. I'll kindly point out that this fight during a recession, with 2 non american & non heavyweights not named oscar de la hoya just put on a bigger card than any event in the history of the UFC regardless of how many fights were on the card.

Boxing is alive and kicking, and as long as Manny is carrying it it's going to stay on top!

It seems like its going over a 1 mil buys but going to 2 mil or even 1.6 i doubt it... If it goes over 1 mil then Floyd jr will have no bearing if they negotiate with PAcMan coz Floyd made his biggest with ODLH in it and made only 900k plus with Hatton...So if it makes over 1 mil then it will all be good for camp of PacMan...But then we need to look at the official HBO number...

Believe what numbers? There are no numbers to believe.

I said several days ago that Arum would quote some fantastical nums. He does that all the time.

HBO is a division of Time Warner, which is a public company. As such, they are bound by SEC material disclosure rules, as well as Sarbanes Oxley.

The HBO release is what you should believe. If you believe Arum, you have the IQ of a stone.
