Hatton Says a Few More Rounds Would Have Helped
Collapse

What I meant by over was the fact that he is making excuses about
"If there were more rounds" There couldn't be because he couldn't
hang plain and simple. I tried to root for Ricky because I thought
he would be too tough and experienced for Manny because he
dominated the division but he didn't use anything to give himself
an advantage over Manny. He said that he was different but showed
how limitless he was that night by walking into Manny's fist. He couldn't
hang with Manny on NO level. Another main reason for me picking
Hatton was because I thought Manny couldn't hang but I have to take
my hat off to him. Manny is truly a great fighter. While I can see
Hatton still fighting it won't be against any elite level guys because
he's 0 for 2 in that department.Comment

Nah bruh........Ricky Hatton got SMASHED!!! plain and simple no excusesbig floyd will tell the details of that feud in hatton camp, give him a few more days.
no wonder ricky threw out into the wind what he practiced in camp.
ryt in the first second of the fyt he was clearly fighting in his old self/style.
now that is a ............very good excuse!!
haters will surely capitalize on that to take the luster off manny's sensational win. Hmmmmmm.......pachaters always find something anyway.
and it shouldn't be none. Pac annihilated him.Comment

Excuse me...
Well, to be honest, Oscar's defence is definatley his weakness, but I think that Manny's dominance over Oscar was also attributable to DLH being totally dead at the weight.
Look, I'm not saying that Manny doesn't represent a massive challenge for the Welters, but if you can't see why he will struggle a great deal more with the likes of Mayweather than he did Hatton then, well, there isn't anywhere for you to go.
Mayweather is a master technician. He has perfected the hard of minimising risk whilst maintaining sufficient offensive output, and that is exactly what you need to do against Manny. Pacquiao can be hit regularly, the trick is not to get hammered whilst hitting him, and I think that Mayweather has the skills to implement a fight plan that allows him to do that. Hatton clearly did not have those skills.
Sorry if i intervened w/ ur discussion...but to be honest & fair, Hatton is a very strong champion & so far a great fighter no question about it...he's so ferocious & dominant at 140 lbs. if u try to watch most of his fights..but he's a dirty fighter w/ excessive holding w/c is a foul in boxing (http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php/Rules_of_Boxing) it always depends on the ref of how to deal it...but Hatton is great but was not in the level of Pacquiao or Mayweather, he lacks the x factor to be one of the ATG's...
But Pacman is great among the greats (All Time Greats) but i think PBF also was almost there but needs to validate it...
If we consider PBF vs Oscar it went full rounds winning by split decision were Oscar leading the 1st half...
PBF vs Hatton was competitive but it also ended in a 10th round knock out...a good performance over all!
How about Pacquiao vs Oscar in a one sided bout that ended in humiliation by a stoppage in 9th round...pre-fight most thought it was a mismatch in favor to Oscar...
Pacquiao vs Hatton was a shocker knocking out Hatton cold in the 2nd round w/ 2 knock downs in the 1st round and many thought to be competitive since Hatton was the true champion & undefeated at this weight level...over all performance EXCELLENT!!!
So we have a glimpse & idea of how the two greats dealt w/ same great oppositions...styles, courage, skills, accomplishments, etc. makes the difference to make a fight and a fighter great...
PBF vs Pacquiao is a different level & a different matter to discuss...Comment

I don't know why everybody is getting so pissed off at Hatton. All he is saying is that if he didn't catch so many big shots he may have been able to work his way into the fight. It may not be true but that's his opinion. Respect it, because I'm sure he would respect yours.Comment

I am not out to discredit Manny's win. I love the guy and wish him all the best. His legacy is sealed. He is a ring legend. An all time great and one of the best fighters I have ever seen in the ring.

What I am trying to do is make the moron that is Weebler II understand that just because Manny dominated the limited Hatton does not mean that he will automatically blow out every Welterweight in history, as this idiot would have everyone believe.
You are right, Manny v Mayweather is a different matter to discuss and a completely different fight to the Hatton fight. Would Manny win it? I have no idea. All I know is that there is no way in hell that Pacquiao will just walk in there and blow him out of the ring, or "win comfortably" as Weebler would say.Comment

Lol at teh idiot saying Pac will just Walk trough Floyd and Cotto. Thats pure ******ity and nonsense.
Both I think Will beat pacquaio. MR Boat Buyer, UDs him in a competitive fight. and Cotto KHTFO in 7 rounds or less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Wow, he's the real deal is he? ****, thanks.
Noone is arguing whether or not he is a great fighter. He clearly is. He is already an ATG legend of the ring.
What I find ridiculous is your inability to see that Hatton and Mayweather are two completely separate fighters and that the challenges they present to Manny would be totally different.
Can you not see how Ricky fought the perfect fight for Pacquiao? He walked in hands down and just allowed himself to be nailed against the faster fighter. Do you think Floyd is going to do that? Floyd will turn this into a technical fight. He will present Manny with very few openings. Technically, Floyd is superior to Pacquiao. Can Pacquiao's power and tenacity overcome that? I don't know. What I do know is that anyone who thinks Manny can just walk in there and blow Floyd away based on his win over Hatton knows absolutely nothing about boxing.
Sometimes it's not good to discredit a fighter after a loss, the over all performance makes the difference...its a product of their over all skills being put together to perform...since they're all great fighters w/ different skills but there must be a winner & that's the superior fighter...Pacquiao vs Floyd is a different matter of discussion...
