exactly, hatton is an idiot, you dont just walk at pacman with hands down chin up winging wild shots, if manny was more aggressive in the opening 30 seconds or so hatton wouldnt have made it out of round one, as soon as manny started throwing his right hook and flurrying hatton was looking glassy eyed and stunned, i couldnt believe it. i based my prediction of a close fight on the presumption that hatton had improved his jab and defence and wouldnt just charge in like an utter idiot...i was wrong

he would have lost anyway though, even if he had fought smarter, it just would have taken longer

all those weeks training with ugly boy floyd sr was a waste of time, hatton could of fought the way did with no trainer, hatton was pissed at floyd senior before the fight and just didnt want to listen to him. Maybe because of the rumor of an argument from the night before with floyd sr and hatton.

Shut the f*** up you prick. I admit full well I was wrong in the build up to the fight. I know that Ricky would have got beaten either way. I was just commenting that if Ricky calmed down and began to defend himself more or apply some kind of technique, he could have done a little better. Manny said Ricky hits hard. A good clean shot from Ricky could have changed the make up of the fight a little bit. Ricky would still have got beaten in all likeliness, but the fight might have been more interesting.

Where the f*** did I say in my original post that Hatton wouldn't have been punished. Get Pacquiao's nuts out of your mouth and take a note from your BF's book and be humble.

Had it lasted longer, I fear Hatton would have gotten what he fears (dominated in every round that the fight lasts) and more. He would have been more thoroughly lambased, dropped more times, and taken out just as badly.

Save for the first 30 seconds or so, majority of which he devoted to hugging and punching in the clinch ( and which, for all that, may be given to him with no mean measure of generousity), he wasn't anywhere near competitive.

Hatton is no Juan Manuel Marquez who comes back meaner after he gets dropped.

Hatton should thank ref Bayless for giving him some good time to recover in the first after the first KD as Bayless held Pacquiao at bay, wiped Hatton's gloves, before allowing them to re-engage.

Note: Bayless was quoted in a post-fight interview that he thought Hatton was out of it as early as the first round but opted to allow the fight to continue and gave the Mancunian all the "champ's chance".
