He was the lineal champ at 140. The LINEAL champ. I don't care what people say about David Diaz, who was a paper champion. Hatton beat the man, that beat the man, that beat the man and defended for 5 years. Hatton has my respect as a champion, whether he held it for 2 months he still beat the man. You put buster douglas as a highlight in the resume of Holyfield and I really cant argue because he beat the man.

But obviously Pacquiao has even better wins--as you agree. Next?

Since we're throwing out names Pacquiao has wins over Ledwaba, Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Hatton, De La Hoya. LOL.

How about those other two names you mentioned? Hmm?

Like who?? George Foreman? Joe Frazier??? Really deserving of all time great mentionings....but let's face it.....they were not the best of their era. If either of those guys were fighting now....they'd cut through the heavyweight division like a hott knife through butter and noone would be caring about Pacquiao's achievements today....regardless of what he did...but as it stands....That is the difference between the standing of a frazier and an Ali.

And there is no place in a ATG list for runners up bein ahead of fighters that were the best of their era just because they are old school, highly regarded throwback fighters.

Pacquiao has already done things several guys on that particular list never came close to touching achievementwise....and he's not done yet. I believe he is beating floyd....and by the time he faces Cotto or Mosley it'll be for the undisputed welterweight championship and he's beating them too....and possibly getting an alphabet as high as 154. giving him a total body of work that even the immortal roberto duran who is so high on that list couldnt come close to.

The man is obviously special. Let's just enjoy the ride while it lasts and wait til it's over before we critique harshly.
