    Hattons far from done.

i'm fed up of all you saying hatton should retire. He lost to two of the best P4P fighters in the world - what's the crime in that? If your losing to bums then it's time to retire.

I actually thought he was doing pretty well at the start, chasing manny around the ring and manhandling him.. just needed to be a little more careful and he wouldn't have walked into those shots. Came out Ok for the second but then it all went **** up.

Would have been interesting if he survived that last 10 seconds.. could have seen the fight settling down a little. Both were a little wild swining in all directions (who knows if ricky had caught manny with that swining hook right at the end of round 1 - looked nasty!)

Hatton's not done... he wont be the best boxer around but theres nothing stopping him carrying on, he'd still have everyone apart from pacquaio/mayweather

Hatton's taken a lot of heavy hits. His punch resistance is gone and he's easier to catch than the Black Death.

If he doesn't want brain damage (if he hasn't already suffered it) he must get out now.

No shame in that. He's had a good career.

Hatton isn't done from boxing but he should be done from competing at an elite level.

Hatton is done as an elite. And when you been on top and made millions, why belittle yourself goin on as a journeyman? This happens to too many top fighters. Dude needs to go.

Here's what some people fail to realize, usually because it's not their lives on the line: Being knocked out as violently as he was against Pacquiao is life-altering. The man hit his head very hard on the floor and might have suffered a concussion (I wouldn't be surprised but I haven't heard anything).

His two losses to Mayweather and Pacquiao were finalizing endings, the kind that take a lot out of a fighter.

On top of that, he has shown that he has only one style of fighting and it's one that leaves him in very vulnerable defensively. He's going to keep getting hit and taking two to land one and that just isn't the kind of fighter who should continue.

If he continues to campaign at 140, he'll find himself in a division with sharpshooting ****ers like Timothy Bradley, Victor Ortiz and Kendall Holt; guys who present a very high rate of risk and little compensation.

Hatton has a target on his back and every fighter under the sky is going to be out to cash in on him. He isn't a Roy Jones type of fighter who can run and move, he's going to get KO'ed the next time he fights another big puncher.

The last place Hatton wants to be competing is below elite. The top fighters end it mercifully quick. The second-tier fighters keep you there for twelve gruelling rounds.

If you're taking hits like a stricken aircraft carrier the last thing you want is twelve rounds of punishment.

Hatton would be wheelchair-bound within five fights.
