Just because Hatton decided to get ****** on fight night and come in reckless against an elite fighter, doesn't mean Sr is any worse of a trainer. I would ditch Ricky too for not doing what i said. How would you feel if you had trained a student for 8 weeks and he went out and not only did nothing you taught him, but gets knocked out in 2 rounds?
that's true, but he does have some mental problems.......
he is a loud mouth, hatton just couldn't concentrate on the gameplan,
i guess he was nervous, he did not follow instructions there is pretty much nothing you can do as a trainer if your fighter does not follow through

What kind of **** is that?? I'da fired his dumbass on the spot Miguel Cotto style.
Then he doesn't accompany Ricky to the ring?? Wtf kinda **** is that??
Then after the fight he just leaves and says nothing to the media other than "ricky should retire"...yeah thanks for that astute observation Floyd.
Also in a boxing first, this egomaniac actually got introduced by Buffer in the prefight intro's.
Since when does that happen? What has Sr. ever done to merit that? What famous fighter has he ever developed??
Apparently none of this was lost on Oscar who had some choice words for him in the locker room after the fight. And I'm pretty sure Hatton's fired his ass.

Bottom line, Mayweather Sr. is a piece of trash. He's a crap trainer, an abrasive loudmouth, and a megalomaniac only interested in getting attention for himself.
In other words, he's just like Floyd Jr.

My advice for up and coming fighters? Dont waste your money on Floyd "joke coach" Mayweather. He'll ditch you and lose you fights.
No no no you didn't hehehehehe. Sr is a great trainer but you can't teach a 30 year old how to fight in such little time. Well, not well enough to beat someone like Pacquiao. Also Pacquiao is physically superior to Hatton so even if they had equal skills Pacquiao would still win imo. Pacquiao has better chin, stamina, speed, STRENGTH and punching power. I like Hatton but he should have stayed out of the real competition. To think this guy could have been (at least for the brits) as big as Calzaghe had he done the following: Fight Mayweather now, him being 32 and out of retirement, filling the time with mandatories. He'd be 45-0 or so now and beating the former p4p fighter, but no, he had to be a real man and fight people in their prime who won't fade away in the later rounds... :S As a real boxing fan I'm happy and like Ricky even more for being "mexican" in this way but I'm sure at least half of you are sorry for him not taking the Zaghe way.

Yes, pretty much. When Hatton felt Pac's power you knew the gameplan was out the window. But he still tried to jab in the beginning of the 2nd round, keeping in mind he had to follow the gameplan. Poor Ricky, there was nothing he could do really, Pacquiao was too fast and when Ricky jabbed Pacquiao not only got out of the way but he hit Hatton with a power shot IN THE SAME MOVE! I think Ricky felt he couldn't win at that point. If your opponent gets under your punch and hits you in the same move, then you shouldn't be in the ring with him in the first place. Ricky got totally outclassed. Blaming it on Floyd Sr is sickening. Probably the same kind of people who immediately after the fight gave all the credit to Roach when Pacquiao should always be first getting the credits because it was his win and no other Roach OR Sr. fighter would get those results that night. Pacquiao is the one truly special in all of this ****. This coming out of a Floyd (and Pacquiao) fan!

Thats all well and good but it doesnt justify him being late to workouts, not walking with Ricky to the ring and acting so unprofessional the whole way. Not cool to treat your fighter like that.

I think he is still a good trainer but I can't pay no 2 million to train. That's crazy. He better be able to train me on how to disappear in mid air or fuse my punching glove into my opponent's head.

Didn't say he was the victim, Hatton is obviously the victim, but it wasn't Floyd's fault he lost, it's his own.

He already burned that bridge behind him by being an *******. Dawson doesn't need a different trainer anyway. Not walking back to the locker room with your own fighter (signing and posing instead) is a totally low class move by a low class person.

i'd rather have nacho giving me instructions in the corner than floyd sr.

and i don't even speak spanish.

                  true story.

while ricky was on the way to the hospital , floyd was doing an interview saying , "my son and someone below my son knocked him out , ricky needs to retire."

Ya but he hasn't trained Floyd since 2001 and Floyd has done EVERYTHING practically in his pro career without SR. So basically he taught FLoyd **** because amateurs and pros are different. Roger should get the credit with floyd JR, not SR.
