In fact, what brought this subject to mind is a pm I got from Reed:

funny thing was that my brother asked: isn't he saved by the bell if it was at the end of the round??..i said "bro, he'd need to be saved by the whole night to have any chance of getting back into that fight".

i guess tyson v spinks is a good comparison though spinks was a scared ***** man... only knock-out ive seen that is comparable to the one saturday night was in the ufc when rashad evans knocked my boy chuck cold n dead.

Actually, apart from Jones, I can't really think of an elite fighter who got laid out like that unless Sumbu Kalambay counts as an elite fighter when he got stretched by Michael Nunn.

Edit: Ingemar Johansson vs Floyd Patterson 2, Edison Mirada vs Arthur Abraham 2, Miranda being considered an elite fighter is iffy though. Guys like Jermain Taylor got slumped so that doesn't count.

Look at the first round of the Floyd fight, where he's holding back, using feints and the jab. I didn't see a single jab that I can recall on Saturday, just a pasty Manc rushing in like a wildman.
                i agree with you.

He's not. He's Britain's version of Arturo Gatti: An exciting fighter to watch but gets slaughtered when facing in-prime world-class opposition.

Sorry, language barrier problem here... what I mean is, he fights at an elite level. Whether he does any good or not is another matter.

Though going ten rounds with Floyd (some of which were competitive) and beating Cost A Zoo should have meant he was better than he was on Saturday.
