P4P is not JUSt an accomplishment list. It's also 'if everyone was the same size, who's the best.' If Floyd says he's active and the papers are signed, he's in that race until we see otherwise in the ring.Last edited by crold1; 05-04-2009, 07:00 PM.

Pound for Pound is almost universally recognize as the best boxer regardless of weight.
If Wladimir Klitschko and Mayweather were in the same weight class and were to match their skills against one another in the ring, which fighter would win?
So name ten fighters who would beat mayweather if they were the same size?
and match skill for skill

[QUOTE=Bullet Bill;5207593]name ten fighters who are better than Floyd Mayweather Pound for Pound?
I already named 9 on an earlier post. I don't know why floyd is so high. He hasn't proven anything except that he can beat older smaller fighters that he should beat. That doesn't make him pfp on my list

Wrightful owner to P4P#1 is Paul.
We were right when Ronald "Winky" Wright was considered by some the P4P champion. Manny Pacquiao should only be given the title if a champion is measured on how many seats he sells rather than he/she defying the odds. The wins over unpoised Ricky Hatton and the underachieving De La Hoya doesn't give him the right for the following:
Manny Pacquiao's conquest ended when his greed began by refusing to fight Juan Manuel Marquez after their highly contested and controversial bout. He moved on instead as an underdog? and fought a dehydrated De La Hoya, whos best opponent he defeated in well over 5 years, was Ricardo Mayorga. What we learned in the fight with Hatton is that Pacquaio has power and that a leopard cannot change his spots. Looking at the fight it is clear that Hatton simply didn't respect nor believe in his power. Hatton was much more competitive against Mayweather because of the threat recognition of the bigger Mayweather. There was a chance because Hatton hired Floyd Sr. and looked good when he outboxed the boxer in Malignaggi right? No, the fact was that his feather punching opponent could not hit hard enough to bring out the leopard. Which made that an inadequate measure of his improvements. Once Hatton's cage was rattled, he simply lost his head. He didn't want to believe it so he set out on a mission to prove that disregarding his defense, becoming the leopard that he is. You may ask, why did Mayweather go 12 with a guy that Pacqaio tko'd? Its cut and dry, De La Hoya could only cover up in the fight in the condition he was in at 147. Pacquaio knows that defensive fighters give him problems and this is why is chose money over fighting J.Marquez and is not P4P#1.
JMM on the other end moves on to ko Joel Casamayor and furthermore ko Juan Diaz. I underline ko because Nate Campbell had beaten Diaz on cards on a night where he was not in the ring (e.g. P.Williams vs. C.Quintana).
P4P status should be given to fighters who dont hide behind the materialistic excuses but takes all challenges in order to defy odds and prove thier claims. For this reason Winky was #1P4P until Paul Williams punished him. This is a champion that up until that lost had only 1 legit defeat which was early in his career before winning as underdog in 2 fights some of us say 3 while on 7 year winning streak. Winky out of frustration of recieving nothing for something he had worked hard for. He further clouded the picture when he disadvantaged himself by becoming a ducker stating that he was on a "paper chase" and chosing to move to fight Hopkins at a weight that Hopkins had come more accustomed to. For that I cannot knock his P4P status.
With that being said here is the P4P based on truth not $:
1.Paul Williams- hasn't ducked anyone. He was the first to beat Margarito. And now people say he doesn't have a big name on his resume'. Aren't all the names he needs hiding behind the money. Has the ability to legitimately face all from 147-160lbs.
2.Juan Manuel Marquez- besides aforementioned, he also doesn't own a duck.
3.Chad Dawson-he is also a member of the duckless, but also a victim to weak division. But also truely the reason Calzaghe is retired.
4.Vic Darchinian- after only lost by ko to Donaire, he has made adjustments and become a complete terror for any style he has faced since. Also happens to be calling for Manny Pacqauio. NO DUCKS!
5.Winky Wright- Its hard to throw him too far down on the list after only really being beaten by the guy who's #1. He is tough to beat for everybody in 154-160 except..plus he ducked at a time when he was on top not en route to.
6. Shane Mosley- I don't see the loss since his second bout with Wright. Cotto was a beaten fighter, when its that close its about what man has imposed thier will. We saw Cotto fighting backwards for the first time. Needless to say he goes to ko the man who ko'd Cotto.
7.Bernard Hopkins- He was up there but due to him ducking Wright at 160 but fighting him a year later at 170lbs. He doesnt go beyond Wright on this list.
8.Floyd Mayweather- The most talented but least tested. He has hand picked particular champions in the weight classes he has traveled through. He doesn't want Winky, Margarito, or Cotto but calls for Mosley but now after things have blown over wants no part of Shane Mosley but rather wants to disadvange JMM and use his P4P ranking as a claim for him to be top dog.
9.Manny Pacquaio- He continues to surprise us all with his power, but has yet to show an ability to win against defensive fighter. The first fight with JMM when despite being down 3 times in the first round he was able to fight to a draw.
10.Miguel Cotto- The next Shane Mosley in terms of going on a streak. He is tough as nails and indeed will continue where he left off with Mosley. So what he lost to the plaster master.
barely missed- Andre Berto- Limited competition but speed, agility, moderate power. If Mayweather is the 93 in gas he is the 89.
Joe Calzaghe doesn't go, only has a win against Lacy as reason. Roy is a shell of himself, come to think of it its funny he was knocked down by this guy. Did he interpret his gift against Hopkins as a sign to retire. Lets see I guess there is reason why all of his options had he stayed are listed ontop of him on this list. He can't beat any of them.
