Depending on how you look at it, with his belt grab at 140 in his win over Hatton, Pacquiao has arguably amassed his 6th world title.
Now generally for such a small fighter moving up a further weight class would be deemed an impossible feat and so normally the 7th title would be out of reach. However in this exceptional circumstance, Pacman has already beaten Oscar DLH at 147. Though it wasn't for a belt or title, it still at least convincingly showed that Pacman DOES have what it takes to AT LEAST be competitive at 147. Oscar being a weight drained zombie aside, seeing Pacman dismantle DLH proved as I said that he would at least stand SOME chance against some of the other top guys at 147.
Then, an historic and record breaking 8th division would be just within reach at the 154 junior middleweight mark. Considering that to my knowledge it's not the strongest division at the moment to begin with, maybe Pac has a chance to eventually move up there and beat a weaker belt holder.
Obviously the possible fight at the table now is against Cotto for the WBO title at 147 should Cotto retain the title in his defense against Clottey in June. This win would arguably give Pac his 7th division.
Perhaps if sometime next year Floyd grows into junior middleweight (154) and wins the title there, a truly historic match for not only P4P supremacy but an 8th division for Pac would be set up with Pacman moving up to 154lbs to face Floyd. But that's going out on a limb.
What do ya'll think?
