And Shane called out Mayweather in 2007 when Mayweather was pretty much signed up to fight Hatton.
With Margarito, Mayweather-DLH was still a possiblity for september and him fighting Marg on August 12th pretty much ruined that, so Mayweather waited it out.
So Merchant has no reason to be pissed because he's pretty much wrong. The only case you can make for Floyd ducking someone is Cotto, but if Floyd passed up 30 million for a DLH rematch, I'm pretty sure he just didn't feel like fighting at the time in general.
Mosley-Mayweather has never been good because of timing on both sides I will agree with that.
Margarito wanted Mayweather but Mayweather chose Baldomir.
He got the same money basically and lineal, but Margarito had been petitioning for that fight for a long time.
Remember Merchant chiding Mayweather because the fans were booing him during the Baldomir fight?
Those guys definitely have no love.Comment

I think Merchant always wanted Margarito-Mayweather as early as 2005, early 2006, and when Floyd fought Baldomir, who was the champ but an unknown, that just escalated things.
Merchant talked **** during the Bruseles fight etc, but it's weird because earlier Merchant was as high on Mayweather as anyone.Last edited by Guest; 05-03-2009, 07:26 PM.Comment

Bull****, Floyd called out Shane so he could be his last fight at 135 and Shane backed off. He called him out AGAIN after he beat......someone and was like "Floyd Mayweather will fight ANY fighter I don't duck NOBODY." I mean when you fight Deigo Corrales (RIP) when he was number 5 p4p and KO'ing everyone around it's hard to call you a ducker. An opportunist is more like it.Comment
