Trust me I share your pain, but promoters and the like are partly to blame for this. Before the advent of PPV when boxing was on network tv and when there wasnt an excess of sanctioning bodies, I dont think we had this big a problem. Im a huge fan of Nate for instance, but surely he would take a big money fight over fighting a mandatory for alot less, am I not correct in this thinking?
Money Mayweather Officially Back. Marquez Fight On!

what i want is clarity within the divisions. Nobody cleans out a division anymore. They just division shop, so that multi-millionaires can add more millions to their bank accounts. Is pac-hatton a good fight? Yes it is. Does it clear up anything at 140? No, because the winner isnt going to fight any of the top guys at 140 (bradley, nate, urango, etc.) is jmm-floyd a good fight? It's not terrible, but it is a mismatch and it clears up nothing. The winner will only fight someone who brings $10 million or more to the table. I'm just calling it for what it is.
See, i am just sick of $$$ being the sole criteria these days for making a fight, and of "fans" who defend these decisions as if they were getting a cut of the money or something......
It's like saying new kids on the block are better than the four tops because new kids made more money.....
yeah man, gone is the day when champs fought champs....its' like evry time i watch a fight, some clown is walking into the ring by his croonies holding some bull**** belt up in the air.....
Lets have the best fight against each other....fans will pay for that at least give us **** for our buck especially in these hard economic times!!!Comment

u know what as long as floyd fans accept that this is nothing more than a tune up then i have no problem with the fight anymore!!! If they treat it as more then they are some dilusional **** sucking idiots!!! JMM is who has never fought above lightweight shouldnt be fighting prime welters!!! Man JMM looked slow as **** at lightweight i cant imagine how much slower he will look at welterweight or close to itComment

Hmm.
You know, I think Floyd Mayweather Jr is showing complete disrespect to Hatton and Pacquiao by announcing this RIGHT before their fight on THE SAME DAMN DAY. I realize that boxing stars are few and far between, but how about some respect shown to the mega fight and the fighters involved? Couldn't this have waited until tomorrow at the earliest? I mean, wtf.Comment

I'm sending a bottle of the best **** my e-points can buy to ALL the Floyd dudes........celebrate hard my dudesComment

Honestly, it would depend on the circumstances. Believe it or not, Nate is not ruled by money. Sure, he wants to look out for his family and what not, but these situations here are on a totally different scale. Would Floyd take a big pay cut by fighting say Shane instead of JMM? I doubt it. So he makes $8 million instead of $10 million? Cry me a river. The arguements are silly because these guys are making multi-millions of dollars anyways. If you were to ask Nate "choose between $150k for a mando, or $1.75 million for a mega-fight, then thats an easy choice, because of what the difference could do for his family. But if you asked him to choose between $3 million for fighter A, or $5 million for fighter B, he would take the fight that was thought to be the more credible, regardless of the extra money.
And remember, Marquez did something similar a while back. He turned down $750k for a Pac rematch, and took a loss from Chris John instead for no money. But it wasnt because Chris John was perceived as more credible. It was because Nacho wanted $1.5 million for the Pac rematch, and couldnt get it at the time. lolLast edited by OnePunch; 05-02-2009, 05:18 PM.Comment
