JMM just recently moved up to 135. The guy is 35 and is not ready to more up not one but two divisions now. It's a joke.Show me where Floyd is much bigger or even bigger than Marquez. Just because Floyd moved up alot earlier than Marquez so he could make more money doesnt mean he is much bigger or even bigger. Skills and smarts win fights, thats why guys in the past were able to go up and beat bigger champs.
If skills and smarts wins fight then I suggest Floyd go fight Kelly Pavlik. It's about the same as JMM fighting Floyd.Comment

Again weight doesnt win fights, skill and ring smarts do, Hopkins jumped up two weight classes and dominated Tarver.Comment

I've always said a GREAT fighter should be able to go up or down at least one weight class and beat a GOOD fighter, with that said there are limits for most fighters where either gaining too much weight will affect them or their opponent's strength will be too much to overcome.Comment

Yes skills and ring smarts do win fights TO A CERTAIN EXTENT....mayweather would easily have to much strength and power advantages over marquez......I know marquez called floyd out, but im sure floyd could of at least made the fight better and closer to marquez's weight...
Floyd wont get that much credit for beating marquez at that weight and im sure marquez isnt ****** enough to try take him on at the weight mayweather is requesting....Comment

Not me. I said Floyd is a welterweight. Maybe not "natural" WW as far as where he could be fighting if he hand't moved up in weight, but he does come in at 147+ and WW does state "147" as WW. It's the other problem I have with fighters dehydrating to make 147, then blowing up in weight by 10-20 pounds and calling themselves "WW/147" fighters. Really; When was that, on the scales?
However, I'm in favor of Floyd fighting some Welter-weghts to see if skill really is more important than size. Floyd can be out-weighed by 10-20 pounds come fight-night and if he does win, that will prove his skills in boxing are truly great (not that they aren't already)...especially since he is one of those fighters that moved up in weight through the years while some of the other WW either started there or moved down.
On that note: How much did Oscar out-weigh Floyd on fight-night?Comment

I think it helped that Tarver was deflated from the weight loss like Roy was for him.
Not sure how much it mattered and given Hopkins wasn't in his prime either...but, just saying; he got Tarver at the right time.Comment
