    Crazy Pac Training Methods

I read in the paper today the once every 2 days Manny has a member of his team batter him with bamboo sticks to kill all nerves in his lower body and arms.

This Training method is frowned upon by Roach who dismisses it as crazy.

Wondered what your views on this training method is, i mean it can't hurt killing the nerves as it means your pain threshold is higher but if Roach thinks its a dodgy method then can it really be positive.

Sounds like BS to me, wouldn't his body be covered in bruises/marks if this was true?

I don't know how much you can "kill" the nerves as much as just build a tolerance for pain.

When I went to Mexico a few years back, I went to some famous boxing gyms and they had some training methods that would be frowned upon here in the U.S.

Moi Tai fighters use this bamboo stick method all the time.
It helps strengthen your muscles so you take a shot better and it increases pain tolerance.
If anything, Ricky Hatton taking a medecine ball to the body hurts a lot more though.. but it's pretty much the same thing.

I wouldn't call that battering him.
