Why is Pavlik hated on so much?

I thought most people like Pavlik. The only thing I could think of for them not liking him is because he's not the stereotypical lineal middleweight champion. This is a revered division and it's hard to accept a down to earth white boy running things there for allot of people.

I see many on here deeply want him to lose. It was bitter-sweet when he fought Hopkins. They finally got to see him lose (but not KOed or even knocked down). But they know for the next few years he going completely rule middleweight.

Best KO ratio out of any middleweight in the game and yet he still receives hate. How can anyone dislike an exciting fighter who never backs down and always goes for the Knock out.

you got me, brother. and a good portion of people on BS like to claim that Abraham would destroy Pavlik, as if Pavlik has ever been challenged by a fighter with Abrahams style. Abraham backs up into the ropes, goes into a shell, and throws in short bursts. Miranda was alot like that during the Pavlik fight, and alotta people thought he'd "destroy" Kelly... how did that one turn out again?

alotta people do like him. but the haters are here, they just don't want to be exposed publicly right now cuz they know they'll just end up looking ****** when you actually compare Kelly's character to most fighters in the game.

I can't understand the "Abraham would destroy Pavlik" movement either.

Abraham is the most overhyped fighter in the world today. He's beaten who? Miranda? and all of a sudden there are people proclaiming him as some boxing God. Going on what I have seen to this point from both guys I would have Kelly a big favourite heading into a fight with AA.

It is a 50/50 IMO. Abraham does have explosive one punch KO power and Kelly isn't that easy to hit. I know his chin has granite built in but if he does get tagged it might send him to the canvas. He has the will to get up and the heart to continue but Abraham is a good finisher. This is a good style match up for Pavlik tho considering Abraham lacks in output and is sometimes stationary in his shell defense. I hope the fight happens as it will most likely be FOTY material.

Im a Pavlik fan but I admit Abraham is a dangerous fight. Whoever wins should be given full credit. Pavlik isnt very defensive minded, he puts himself on line looking for KOs. Abraham has great power, it should be a good fight. I would still have to favor Pavlik though.

Before the Bhop fight he was one of boxing's most liked fighters who had a big fan base.

Now i can barely find a fan of his on this site.

Of the three middleweight champs Kelly by far has faced the stiffest competition in the last 2 years(Miranda when he was the most fear MW on the planet, Taylor, Rubio, Zuniga, Mc Kart, Hopkins who still had the skills to do what some thought was enough to beat Joe Calzaghe, former P4P best in the heavier divisions, a status now held down by Hopkins). And Abrahams last couple fights?- A ruined Edison Miranda(courtesy of none other than Pavlik himself)Raul Marquez(washed up and never great to begin with), some nobody from Africa who Abraham couldn't even knock out, and soon Giovanni Lorenzo, the guy who got beat by Raul Marquez, the washed up old guy. People on Abrahams side call Mora a bum, even though his accomplishments include beating JMW champ Vernon Forrest and Lorenzo is best known for getting beat by a nobody named Marquez, and people are calling AA the best Middleweight and in the same breath calling Kelly a guy who fights Bums?
