The good news is it seems very unlikely the fight comes off. Hopkins would simply want too much money than King and Tito would be willing to give him which is good for boxing cause this fight would be a joke. Loosing every round to a shot Roy Jones doesnt deserve Tito a fight against hopkins from a legacy perspective. Of course puerto ricans would put up the money for it but its a **** fight.

Also, making 160 would be good because he could fight someone like Sturm and then try to get Pavlik. IMO, he could beat Pavlik because he is really one-dimensional. That jab-straight crap wouldn't work against Tito. He has no business above 160. Also people shouldn't say he had no power at 160 because he did ko Joppy, it's just that Hopkins can take a punch and fought the perfect fight. Hopkins has been in with bigger fighters and hasn't even been hurt.
Tito walks around at 180 or so, and hasn't taken fighting seriously for a long, long time. An old RJJ used him as a punching bag at a weight Tito should have never fought at to begin with, and as far as Pavlik being one dimensional, Tito if anybody ever was one dimensional, Tito was. He's all left hook, and now that he can't make his proper fighting weight(147-154) combined with him being older spells fail for him. There is a reason fighters retire, and a reason fighters come back(money/fame). Tito is well loved by the PR nation, and has nothing else to prove. I think he sees these up and comers/champions like JuanMa and Miguel Cotto and sees his glory days have passed him by.

what prove you got about tito having no power above 154? Roy jones fought as high as heavyweight and got punch by a heavyweight so he could take tito's punches anytimes
he has ko 50% of the fighter he fought about 154.
        • Joppy ko in 5. something Taylor and Hopkins were unable to do. Tito was the first one to ko Joppy
        • Cherifi ko in 4. Joppy was unable to ko Cherifi.
        • Mayorga ko in 8. everyone ko him after Tito got down with him

a win against any top fighter would make his legacy even bigger.
his legacy wont be hurt by fighting and losing. His legacy is done. I think he will lose to hopkins but if he beat hopkins by a miracle it would make his bank account will be bigger plus hopkins is a p4p so most likely tito will get another fight with someone.

Seriously though, I know this fight doesn't mean that much to the boxing world, but if two people have the chance to make millions fighting each other then they should do it. This is america, were not communist although some of you haters act like Commy's but in America you can make money when you want to.

Last week promoter Don King met with Trinidad in Puerto Rico and told the local media that he flew in to discuss a rematch with Hopkins. King told the local media that it was Hopkins and his team who made contact with them for the fight. Hopkins disputes that and says it is Trinidad and King who are chasing after the fight. [details]
I suspected it all along. Don King is, as usual, looking for a big money fight and an excuse to do his cringe-worthy, flag waving rants: "Aaaaaaaaaah, viva Puerto Rico!" and "AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaahhh, yes! Viva America!"

Tito, love what he's done, but again, delusional. I can see why HE would look for a big fight, as Don King...but Hopkins? There is no way he'd fly out to Puerto Rico or make contact with Don King to make a fight like this. Fight fans would scrutinize Hopkins for doing it, and they'd keep telling Tito: "Tito, you're way over your head with this thing." :S

I don't want to see a rematch. Tito should have never quit in the first place. Tito loses once and pretty just gives up and now he wants to come back anytime Cotto has a big fight, here comes big head Tito Trinidad and his daddy trying to steal Cotto's thunder. Stay retired Tito, we know you were great and you are a legend. Leave it at that and avoid another spanking by your papi B-Hop :lmfao:
Sorry to all the Tito Fans I know my comments will make you angry but I just don't want to see this fight, it's a little too late IMO.

I will say this though, B-Hop vs Trinidad was an amazing fight. One of B-hops most entertaining fights ever.
