Okay, so where do you rank Margarito?

Someone has to be above someone else who beat them, precisely because the triangle theory doesn't work.

I don't think it is necessarily a slap in the face. You already know the story between Cotto, Marg, and Mosley, so I think that a rematch between Cotto and Mosley will surely settle it.

better yet cotto beat mosley. You can never claim you are better than someone that beat you.....NEVER!
ROG, coming from you...it is sad to hear. Margarito was the best WW, even though he lost to Paul Williams, remember? All of a sudden, the same can't be said for Shane

He has to fight at WW again to be in the rankings.

If he beats Marquez at 143 or 144 he wouldn't be ranked at WW.

If he came back and had fought like Collazo or Quintana or someone at 147, I'd put him right back at #3 behind Cotto and Mosley.

Is Paul Williams still a WW? Considering that he weighed one pound more against Wright than he did in the first Quintana fight?

it's impossible to rank it that way. Shane can't be above cotto cause he lost to him. Cotto could be ranked above shane but not margarito and margarito can be ranked over cotto but not shane so there really is no true ranking you can do that's why when you evaluate two fighters that have fought already it only makes sense to claim the winner the better guy. Anything else is irrelevant in my eyes.

How about Margarito being the best WW at one time, even though he lost to Paul Williams?

doesn't really matter everyone knows Cotto should be undefeated. So on paper he might not be number one, but in reality he is. Though I think Clottey will beat him, I think Margarito soften him up.

Alot of people still claimed williams over margarito. and I never claimed to margarito being better than him until they fought again. Since that fight margarito beating cintron and cotto and williams having to need a rematch to avenge a loss to a lower ranked ww the consensus was that margarito was the #1 ww. I still wanted a pwill rematch to leave no doubt in the air. It's just not logical to put yourself ahead of someone that beat you, because you can compare opponents and performances but the only way to settle it is in the ring and cotto beat shane in the ring.
