....er... no-one remember the fact that Junior's Dad died the night he fought Bradley?

I think that, coupled with the fact he's had to work for everything, and given nothing should mean he at least deserves a second chance. Albeit, it should be against Bradley, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

But Witter hasn't earned this at all.
He deserves a rematch with Bradley because his father fell seriously ill the morning of his fight, and he wasn't focussed. Because of that, he was very lethargic in the ring, not nearly as sharp as in his previous fight. Bradley had no reason at that time to give him an immediate rematch, but if Witter beats Alexander convincingly, then he would deserve one.

No, he was stripped because he unified and chose to keep the WBO belt, and the WBC said if he wanted to keep the WBO belt they would strip him. Mandatories had nothing to do with it. See here.

His father was taken seriously ill that morning and was rushed to hospital. There was an internet rumour that he'd died, which elusive will have read (I thought it was true at first when I read it as well), so he wasn't lying, there's no need to be so disrespectful about honest mistakes.

If my father was taken seriously ill, I certainly wouldn't be able to concentrate fully on my job the day it happened. And Witter looked far more lethargic than usual that night. Whether you like his style or not he's usually far sharper than that.

you and witter just aren't pros then i guess. brett favre threw 4 touchdowns and led his team to victory the day after his dad died.

and believe me if witter had beaten bradley you know he would be saying he fought great because of his dad.

People have different psychological make-ups, that's all. It's far too simplistic to say that means they aren't pros. Most fighters have the occasional bad night, for whatever reason. Most sportsmen of all types do, but in boxing the consequences are far more serious than in most other sports when you have a bad night. It doesn't mean Bradley didn't deserve his victory, but it does mean that if Witter beats Alexander convincingly then he'll deserve another chance.

i think he will beat alexander since he's a hypejob who just got put down by a journeyman. deserve a rematch yes but the first fight was pretty convincing so i doubt one happens.

Frazier and Norton both beat Ali convincingly in their first fights. Not comparing Witter with Ali, just talking about the principle of the thing. La Motta and Turpin both beat SLR convincingly in their first fights. Quintana beat Williams convincingly in their first fight. The list goes on.

Brett Favre had runs of poor form, he wasn't always at his best. Witter wasn't at his best in that fight. It's not just whether he beats Alexander, it's how good he looks while doing it.

possibly if he knocks alexanders head clean off but i don't think the major networks such as showtime and hbo are very keen on having witter on again thus making big fights next to impossible. perhaps if hatton loses he will finally try to make that fight with witter.
