Yeeesssssssssss.......... and people talked about that as a possible fight, before Calzaghe retired. Now, that he is retired and is not going to come back out, it's time for Froch to give up the calling out and get on with looking for someone in his division that has the other belts so he can try and actually become a good champion instead of a wank that just about everybody is tired of.

Froch would be way too slow and eay too hit for Calzaghe, he would make Froch miss those slow telegraphed shots all night, Froch would be swinging at air. I truly believe it would look a lot like Calzaghe vs. Lacy

        I doubt that...

Joe is getting older... His style is based on enormous hand speed... And we don`t know in what shape is he right now...

If he comes back out of retirement, he can make a "surprise" for everybody appearing to be much slower and weaker than he was before... So if Joe "suddenly" gets older he is losing... and probably inside the distance...

Of course if he comes back in the shape he was in his latter fights, he would demolish Froch on points... Like 120-108 or something...

Froch must know now what he has to do to get Calzaghe's respect and that's beat Kessler. Joe said he was the best he ever fought and doesn't give Froch any chance against him.

Kessler wants his WBC belt back too so surely he'd want the fight.

Not to be a ****, but clearly, based on your profile you are going to be giving any points you can to fighters from the UK. Not likely to be the most objective.

Pavlik is a middleweight and if you are such a Kessler fan why arent you clamoring for him to fight Froch? Just doesnt make much sense....

what's so wrong if Froch feels the same way about Calzaghe??

Calzaghe has used every excuse in the book not to fight Froch.. His last one was.. Who is Froch?? Well Froch is the WBC 168lb Champ now.. and Ko'd a Guy Calzaghe was willing to fight..

I mean No offence to Joe.. But A duck is a duck.. and I believe he is afraid of Froch.. and has been for years.. In Fact Calzaghe has one of the most hand picked resumes in the history of the sport..
If Calzaghe was not retired and CURRENTLY refused to face Froch, then I would say that was a duck because Froch is a champion, a fight with him would bring credibility and it would bring a LOT of money. But the truth is that Joe is retired now and doesnt seem interested in coming out of retirement. Previous to this, Calzaghe was quite right to ignore the 'calls' of Froch that have lasted for years. Froch had done nothing while Calzaghe was active to deserve a shot at the level Calzaghe was currently fighting at. Before his first TRULY big fight against Taylor, Froch was a competitor who had never fought on a world stage. Fighting against Pascal was the first time in his entire career that Froch had stepped up from a European stage to a world stage. It would be ridiculous to expected a top P4P fighter (which Calzaghe has now been since the Jeff Lacy fight) to step down to European level just because someone was calling him out. People forget that Calzaghe got most of his SMW title defences against the likes of Pascal over the past decade. Stepping up to take on Lacy and then Kessler was what he needed to do before HE was able to call out the big names like Hopkins and get those fights made. Which is why that'd be what Froch would have to do...and now HAS done, but its too late, Calzaghe is retired.

Take all of that away from the fact that, and I DO like Froch and WAS impressed by him, Froch was being outclassed and outboxed by Taylor for the first half of the fight. Taylor's own people didnt even think that he was in the same class as Calzaghe. If Taylor tired out and got caught late...Calzaghe wouldnt tire out and get caught late...he gets better as the fight goes on. Taylor made Froch look slow, Calzaghe would make him look as though he was stuck in time and he would keep that high work rate up ALL NIGHT LONG. I really do think that it would be a Lacy vs Calzaghe result, if not slightly worse.

There is some incredible depth in and around that division at the moment. Froch has made a claim for him being one of the top guys up there. If he wants to prove himself he should fight the other top guys. I couldnt see him managing to defeat Hopkins nor Kessler, but if he did, then he truly could start making the case that he is better than Calzaghe. So far a last second knock out of someone whose own trainers didnt believe were in Calzaghe's class doesnt put him anywhere near that league.
